- Liza Minnelli & Billy Stritch give a brilliant performance of "Back in Business," originally from the film "Dick Tracy."
Liza has many great performances on DVD, but this is the only number I've found that showcases Billy's incredible talent - see 3:30.
The video is an excerpt from the highly recommended 1993 DVD "Sondheim: A Celebration at Carnegie Hall" from PBS.

She sings, she dances, she keeps the ensemble choreography in her head. She respects the piano (no tap dancing on that surface). What a lady!
And that ladies and gentlemen is how you lead a dance line
THERE IS NO ONE LIKE THE TRIPLE THREAT, LIZA.
HERE SHE IS AT HER PRIME.

No one... and I mean NO one can bring off the combo of voice, movement, emotional connection and showmanship as Miss Liza May Minnelli!
Who the hell can top that right now as of 2019 amazingly underrated performer who people do not remember her brilliancy
Well...there is such a thing as a perfect performance after all! Billy, Liza, back up dancers, orchestra...what's not to like? They nailed it.

WOW..1ST TIME I SAW THIS ....LOVE LIZA ..TOTAL DANCER..XX
OUR PRECIOUS LIZA !!!
That was great. Liza is always awesome :).
I noticed two of the women that danced with her are two of the "Demon Divas" thay she sings and dances with at her concert 'Liza Minnelli Live At Radio City Music Hall'. Now that was an awesome concert :)
Cool!
I recognized the redhead with the curly hair from that concert!
Fantastic!!!!!
She is ABSOLUTELY THE BEST
PERFORMER OF ALL TIME!!!❤️❤️❤️
This is beautiful
Now, there's ONLY one Liza-Liza with a 'Z' for Zing-not to mention verve and panache! Hence, her performance here is electrifying, and it includes both the sizzle AND the steak! Alas, who today could ever top this showstopper, I shouldn't wonder, and one that is not merely ornamental-but, RICH in COSMIC PORTENT!
Richard Iritano Z for zing! Yes!
Ha, ha! Liza could never be an ordinary entertainer---and her Z for zing tells the story why---without saying a word!
Richard Iritano
I guess I'm showing my age .but this was worth watching... From start to finish... Shame so many shows are not like this anymore... .ty for posting.
Fantastic
Sensational!
WOW AMAZING LIZA AND AMAZING DANCING. SHE IS AWESOME. LOVE HER

I am the middle second from left blonde at piano
Holy smokes! Lucky you! I mean, you had the talent to be on that stage, so not really luck, but you get my point. ;)
You're so lucky to have danced with her! I've been a fan of her since I was 12, and I'm 20 now.
Ann, I enjoyed that moment so much!!
LIZAGASM!

Wow! I’d love to tap dance on a grande piano 🤪
Liza in ihren besten Jahren
Whew! Liza was hot!
Minor Sondheim becomes Major Sondheim when Liza lets loose.
Liza performed at a packed-to-capacity audience last night (8-11-12) at The Hollywood Bowl. We were really loving the show and then she said she couldn't see us and she asked them to turn on the house lights. That was ok, but she asked them to leave the lights on. They were located in front of all the monitors, were blinding us, and we couldn't see a damn thing after that. Complaining to the supervising usher, he said he had several hundred complaints and Liza was informed via that thing in her
wow liza is so hot here
See the video information box - 1993.
Wow, 1993 means she was nearly 50!
She should have played Madonna's role!
Because when I think of Sondheim, I also think of Fosse
Take a look at the whole list of Kennedy Center Honorees from over the years. It's good for a laugh when you see that BRILLIANT Liza has never been honored. I'd love to know how they continue to have any relevance. I have not watched KCH for years because of this oversight or slight. I won't watch again this year. It has become a pointless award. You'll be shocked by the honorees that were chosen over Liza Minnelli.
I agree. Liza is a natural artist to be honored with that award, with her fine contributions in music, dance, movies, and theater. A similar oversight is the failure of the late Herman Wouk to be honored with the Presidential Medal of Freedom for his writings, especially his novels of WWII, "The Winds of War" and "War and Remembrance"
here's the jazzy version
