Here in New Zealand and many other countries, doing anything shown in this video is illegal. As a professional Seatbelt Tech, I have seen the result of many belts that have been tampered with. There are many belts currently in use that would not save the people using them. Worse still is the fact that many people have no idea that their seatbelts are unsafe!

    Hello,
I accidentally let the belt spin when the screw driver I put in slipped out. I disassembled the part and noticed that the clip was not broken. How can I restore it to how it used to be? Will spining it in the opposite direction work? Please help

It's happened to me once or twice as well, you get better at it the more you do. the key is to take your time. If you try to go to quick that's when it spins and ends up having to wind it back up like you are having to do now.
You will need 2 small screwdrivers and wind a little by hand to start off
[ make sure you wind the correct way so you don't break the spring ]
then start doing 1/2 turns only each time putting 1 screwdriver in and taking one out, do 1/2 turn again and keep doing that until the spring is fully compressed again and then wind it back 2 or 3 full turns to relax the spring a little again. It will take a while so go slow and take your time.

I had to cut the belt because ...my child, for no reason that he can recall....wrapped it around himself and it wouldn't loosen. It looked like it was a fight and the belt won. Am I going to have to replace all of those parts if I attempt this myself?

You should be able to reuse all the same parts. How much of the belt did you cut? you might need to repalce it if you cut to much.

You can try. The spring part that clips in place might have broken but be very careful and take your time. Once that spring comes out and unwinds its impossible to wind it up again.
