You need the album version of Ice Cream Castles, its still in my regular rotation today, a classic banger from P!!
I still listen to this today. My Drawers is probably my favorite follow by Ice Cream Castles!!!

Another classic. Quick thoughts…gotta listen to the album (as opposed to videos)…different experience. Also, on the heels of the crazy success of the movie Purple Rain, Prince’s soundtrack and this album blew up in a big way.
The official video of Ice Cream Castles is the single edit. The album version is extended by about 3 minutes.
I remember now why I haven't listened to 'If The Kid Can't Make You Come' in a while! I actually personally love the music and the singing portions. this album leaves you wanting more as a whole, even more so given I feel The Time's Jungle Love recording doesn't hold up imo. Never cared for that track until we got to have Prince version on Originals

During the height and popularity of The Time the segue styled songs were like comedy skits with music which was very original in that era. The fan base ate it up. Watch Purple Rain and it makes more sense! 🤘🏾

Like Prince, I love the Morris' image, persona, swag if you will. It just compliments the music......Minnesota in the house....
Remember The Time appearing on Video Soul and Morris Day complaining to Donnie Simpson about how disappointed he was that the girls in the music video weren’t good looking enough. Jerome, of course, backed him up emphatically. Didn’t quite get it then and certainly don’t understand it now after re-watching it. That said, cracked me up then and still does… :)
The Ice Cream Castle album is really several notches below the first two albums in terms of songwriting. I only really like half of the album: "My Drawers", "Jungle Love" and "The Bird" and that's it. I never liked the too synth-pop title track, and "Chili Sauce" and "If the Kid Can't Make You Come" always bored me.
