Chestermere Lake Summer Drone

Chestermere lake is 3.5 miles by 1/2 mile long. It is located just 5 miles from Calgary's east side. You can waterski, wakesurf, kayak, sail and paddleboard here. The water in Chestermere lake changes over every 5 days, as it is an extension of the Western Irrigation District. The water is diverted from the Bow River before the Calgary Water Treatment Plant. The lake is at full operating level from May 1st to Thanksgiving. In the winter the water levels are dropped to protect the irrigation system and the docks on the lake. There are public beaches and pathways that follow the canal system all the way to Calgary and connect with the TransCanada bike path way system.
