Airdrie is my spot I would live there for sure. It's more cleaner than Calgary and a very good quality of life

Just a huge amount of traffic through Airdrie. That will only increase as Calgary population continues to explode. Not sure it's a good choice for this reason. Might be good for short-term real estate flipping.

Sorry Brad I know this was one year ago but I have to say any of these places you have mentioned are not ideal for a young family just trying to rent to get by. Such a sad time really, I was indeed living in Airdrie for 30 years, when I decided as a retiree to move out of the mayhem of the cost and the drama of it all. So I packed up and moved myself south. Namely Claresholm some 7 months ago. What a vast difference, both in affordability and change of pace. Love it love, true Alberta, lots of affordable housing beautiful views amazing people totally chilaxed could
not ask for more. Airdrie is not the same as it were 30 years ago, it is totally focused on building and building cutter cut none descript homes. With no true thought to forward planning, just plonking homes in any land available. It's an eye opener, now I have gotten away from the madness and live in a tranquil well established and may I add well managed little town. I said when I left, see ya don't wish to be ya anymore. My best move ever... Young families do not stand a chance, get away from the loft ideas of all can afford 600, 000 plus homes, times are a changin, as Dylan once wrote, we need solutions for families and the affordable homes are alas just not there, so very sad.

In the last decade, Calgary & Red Deer have had more damaging hail than Airdrie 👌🏼 our last big one was in 2014, but we’ve been fairly calm since then

Hi, I’m from the UK and spent 4 months in Calgary back in 2015, we are now looking at relocating back to the Calgary area with our little family of 4.
What area would you recommend for a young family ? Me and partner are mid 30s with 2 boys currently 4 and 1

Calgary has become completely unaffordable. Looking at nearby options without having to cut social and family ties.
