As a born and raised Calgarian, I felt proud of being a Canadian and a Calgarian. This video was great . I find that if you practice patience, you can learn to deal with the growing pains of the people moving here. When I was born, Calgary had 310,000 people.
This might be the best comment I've ever received. Thank you so much for sharing, and I'm glad we did you proud!
Unfortunately we are getting alot of illegals here who have criminal records via USA and abroad. I aided with CPS In our neighborhood as we had 2 professional criminal gangs shack up here in the past 2 years, not Canadian citizens! And now with the housing shortage we have 9-12 people living in 900-1500 sq ft homes. Read the story about the house explosion recently. Increase in violence at Ctrain stations, increased homelessness is a concern and the handgun traffic from the US is increasing. Even our park has homeless tents now.
I've been here for decades. The past 5 years our neighborhoods have seriously suffered. Our mayor has gotta go! And so with Trudeau.

My dream from childhood has always been to travel the world at the age of 25 due to a retina problem I lost most of my eye sight but still I wanna pursue my dreams
Watching these videos really motivates me to run after my dreams 🎭
I wanna be an inspiration for others through my channel 💙
This video took us forever to study for and shoot. Did we do Calgary justice?! What did we miss?
@@mbeckford this is amazing feedback! Thank you! Great points and we plan to dive deeper into those topics if the video is received well
it is awesome
The Alberta tax advantage is real. It's definitely worth calling out.
I think this is a good look at the city. There are some amazing vibrant communities that offer unique experiences. As well, the rental market is extremely challenging for those who can’t afford to buy. That is becoming a barrier to entry and people coming here should be aware of that.
@@annemariepedersen5616 this is true. Rentals are in high demand - and its challenging to find something right now due to the large influx of people.
Brad - all the time and effort to create this video are worth every minute. This is truly something to proud of. Calgary is a great city and if I was still in Canada that's where I'd be living. All the best!
Thank you so much! I wanted to create a tribute to the city that I loved, something that did it justice!
you literally just sold me Calgary, I'm planning on moving to Canada soon, and I'm researching places that combine kind of everything you said in the video, thanks a lot man
:) Happy to help!
Tried to move this summer, but the rental market is unbelievable. Couldn't even get a viewing without it being cancelled the same day.
Absolutely true!
Yeah and they all need 8 references and a credit check and first and last month's rent plus dd and no pet all for 1 bed 1 bath basement for the low price of 2200 with 50% utilities oh and it's probably an illegal suite
Lol this clown realtor likes every other comment and makes a comment except when someone speaks the truth like you. Shows you what this guy's motive is. Get as many people here regardless of the rental and job situation so he can see his investments continue to appreciate on the backs of conning other people
Fast becoming as expensive as Toronto and Vancouver
I miss Calgary, might do a short visit back soon.
Brad dedicates his channel to home tours and then just drops a moving to video out of NOWHERE that has me considering packing my bags and calling Calgary home. Bravo sir. Beautifully planned and orchestrated video 👏🏼
Thank you for checking it out! It felt good to put something together to showcase this great city!
This video deserves more views. The quality of the content is top tier
Appreciate that!
Great content! Thank you for shining light on a lot of points that are not mainstream. The energy you put in the video is very convincing that moving there would be ideal for everyone :D
I graduated from Central Memorial high school in 2018 and I can speak to Calgary public schools being awesome. My designated schools all ran Spanish/English bilingual programs, the teachers were great, and honestly the arts and theatre programs gave me the unique experience of not just hating school every morning
Amazing video and absolutely on point! I moved out to Calgary last month from Ontario and I'm already certain I'm never moving back :D! You're definitely right when saying it's not for everyone but the fast-paced lifestyle of Toronto was not for me. I am originally from Grenada, a very small Island in the Caribbean and Calgary is the perfect balance of a big city with a small-town vibe. I can't wait to explore more! Also...almost every part of the city is within a 20-30min drive and the Rockies in your backyard is just breathtaking!!
Thank you so much for sharing your experience! Welcome to Calgary, and I hope you continue to love it!
The rentals for the two bedroom condo in Calgary costs around 2000-4000, which it was 1200- 1800 two years ago. Now it is not affordable anymore. The average house price is around 600 k. If you work in the oil & gas industry, your salaries are above 100 k , you can afford 600 k above houses. If you work in the other industries, you do not earn 100 k. When the oil price drops, you lost the jobs in that industry. the homeless and crime rates hike in downtown area.
100%. Rents are insane
He doesn’t like this comment I wonder why😮
It's the same in Victoria. Complete bs
Born and raised in Calgary. Absolutely enjoyed this video and it is very accurate 👌
What an amazing video 👏👏 I mean, it’s a work of art, really good! Very well explained and detailed, great b roll, and your energy is great! Thank you!
Wow great video! I live in Toronto. I never really thought or entertained the idea of visiting or moving to Calgary. The video is beautifully shot with all the gorgeous views. The content & delivery is smooth. The video gives great exposure to Calgary & peeked my interest to visit. I enjoyed how multifaceted the video is making points about economics, social, entertainment, culture, tourisim housing & more. Well done!
Hi I’m planning to make a language stay in Canada to learn English but I don’t know which city choose between Toronto and Calgary. I want to be in a big city like Toronto but I’m scared of Toronto because of the multicultural culture. You who leave there can you tell me about the peoples because I want to be in a city with a certain local population to have a better chance to learn English correctly. Thank you very much for your reply😄😄😄
awesome vid brad! appreciate the effort in highlighting all the amazing things about our city :D
Glad you enjoyed it my friend!

Great video very helpful. Thanks
Thank you for this great video. Best of luck!
Love your video. So much enthusiasm and so motivating ❤
It’s great video, thanks for your job!
As a born and raised Calgarian, this video is spot on. You could definitely make it an hour longer and I'd still be glued to the screen with the great footage and drone shots! Calgary is definitely a great city to thrive in.
Amazing! We were worried people wouldn’t watch any longer so we kept it as tight as possible.
Man, this is spectacular! That was a fun watch!
Thank you my man!
I was advised to diversify my portfolio among several assets such as stocks and bonds since this can protect my portfolio for retirement. I'm seeking to invest $200K across markets but don't know where to start.
For a successful long-term strategy you have to seek guidance from a broker or financial advisor.
With the help of an investing advisor, I diversified my $400K portfolio across markets, and I was able to earn over $900k in net profit from high dividend yielding equities, ETFs, and bonds.
Please who is the consultant that assist you with your investment and if you don't mind, how do I get in touch with them?
My consultant is Jenny Pamogas Canaya She has since provide entry and exit points on the securities I focus on. You can look her up online if you care for supervision.
Thanks for sharing, I just looked her up on the web and I would say she really has an impressive background in investing. I will write her an e-mail shortly.
I moved to Calgary in May 2006 from NL(my wife - now ex and I bought our townhouse for $269,000. The value fell as low as the $180,000's , now in May 2024, I'm almost up what we bought it for in 2008. As a land surveyor for 18 years now - the ups and downs have been insane! But I'm truly proud to be (a born Newfoundlander - first 28 years and since 2006 - a proud resident of the beautiful world class city of Calgary! I love being a proud Canadian citizen and will be for life ❤️
What a video!!! Props to all the team involved and thank youuuu!!!
Thanks so much! :) It was a lot of work - but we're proud of it.
Nice to meet you at REVB and I have to say this is one of the best videos I've seen. The amount of detail and b-roll is fantastic.
I appreciate the honesty in highlighting all the amazing things about Calgary, but recognizing the downsides as well. Even though it's not a "world city" by most standards, it is is an incredible place.
No place is perfect for sure - and all the growth creates challenges for Calgary too. But its a great city!
@@Gloryboyquan no. Canada doesn't have any restaurants or warehouses. It's strictly against our culture.
@@Gloryboyquan lots of work yes!

Best representation of Calgary’s pro and cons. I will add that the salaries in Calgary and the provincial income tax is lower in AB. 😊❤
This one was an eye opener for me being an international professional I always thought Canada had two cities i.e, Toronto and Vancouver however Calgary is next to this big cities. I will surely consider this city for my future prospectus. Also will consider McCallum Group in case if I buy any new propery.
Keep Up the good work Brad!

Great video Brad! I lived in Calgary for 10 years before retuning back to my home province. This video has me wanting to move back.
Thank you for checking it out!!!
Awesome video!
Ok, after watching half video I found that you are promoting yourself. Best luck.
Brilliant. You must have thought i lived in a world without money where I could just spend weeks of time and thousands of dollars creating a video for the sole purpose of your entertainment. Or maybe you’re unsure how RUclips actually works - you’d rather watch a RUclips advertiser than a creator for 15 seconds…. Give me back the half you watched and you can keep your luck. 😀
I should admit although calgary is more than I was expected . The lack of middle density historical neighbourhood where everything is at walking distance would be the main reason I would not consider Calgary . I lived in Montréal but once lived in Paris .
This is a fair observation! I love Calgary - but we definitely are a newer city, and there just isn't those old historical neighborhoods like some of Canada's eastern cities!
Thank you for sharing we live in Montreal for the past 10 years and are planning to move to Calgary very soon
We'd love to assist you in finding a place when the time comes!
You made an amazing video about Calgary.
Thannk you, I'm really proud of our team!
Awesome video, I'm a Londoner living in London, ON, but I will really consider moving to Calgary after I saw this video.
Thx for checking it out!
Wow! What a killer video, Brad. Absolutely loved it.
Thanks my friend! Always good to hear from my favorite Vancouver RUclipsr!
Wow man , the video was just 🔥
Heyyyyy thx
Canada is so vast it will take a lifetime to explore it ❤
Great video! 👍
Great video and well put together as a person who has lived in Calgary it has good diversity and yes cheaper housing keep up the great content!
Hey Brad. Great video. You definitely have peaked my interest, but reading the comments has given me second thoughts. Any videos on the rental market?
Great video Brad. Calgary is a very intriguing city for me as the business sector seems to be doing much better there than Toronto where I live. Working as a real estate agent in Toronto is impossible with over 30,000 agents in the city. The market seems to be a little better in Calgary whereas in Toronto, it has been going downhill for over past few years. I can totally see myself moving to Calgary in a year or 2 and continue my career as a Real Estate Agent.
Top notch presentation skills, editing and delivery
Thank you very much!
Excellent video Brad. All a very true lived experience being here for 20 years myself. We are never leaving 😊
Thank you! It's not perfect, but we love it too. :)
Wow fantastic thank you !!! 🎉 im sold !!!!
😃
I had lived in Calgary from 2007 through 2012. When the oil & gas boom had stopped and the oil projects closed down, I lost my job at and decided to leave the city for a job in another province. If I hadn't lost my job at that time, I would have never left Calgary which is until these days my favorite city in Canada. Finding a rental home has always been and is a major challenge there. Also, finding a job in Calgary without a car is not an option.
Of all the “Moving to ______” videos I’ve seen, this is by far the best one.
Nice video with great vibes.
Amazing content.
Glad you think so!
@brad you have fully persuaded me! totally sold now
Wow!! Thank you for the video Brad. As a new calgarian I was finding myself getting frustrated for trying to convince my friends and family how awesome Calgary is... 👍
Pls share it! It’s a great city!
Fantastic and very informative video. Growing up an hour north of Toronto, a lot of things have had me questioning if I want to stick around here. I am a wedding photographer with a wife and two young kids, and after building my business over the past 10+ years, we cannot afford to purchase a home here without spending absolutely everything that we have. Thus, the reason I have been looking around a little bit to see if we can grow our roots elsewhere. I will definitely be bringing your video to my wife's attention over our dinner tonight :)
Amazing! My wife was a wedding photographer for 6 years in the late 2000's, and I actually was her second shooter. It led me to my passion for videography! :)
Nice video. great job in finding info and shooting pictures.

I'm hoping to move my family to Calgary next year, but the prices of many houses have gone up a lot. It makes my burden even heavier.
I don't even dare to watch the introductory video of the Chinese Calgary house. Because for the same house, the Chinese offer is even a staggering 30% higher than the Taiwanese!😮💨

The people, the people, the people! I moved there from Toronto but to move back due to family reasons. Calgary made me feel at home without any hesitation. I always tell people that it's where I want to retire and counting down the months when I return to Calgary to resume life there and eventually retire. :) This video was awesome Brad. Well done!
Who filmed this video ? Thats incredible work for the size of you channels
What I LIKE about Calgary is housing prices. What I DON'T LIKE is those areas almost in the city centre (such as Parkdale) look like remote outskirts. it's almost no city in the city.
We are now considering to move here from Toronto.
im proud to be a Calgarian this video is crazy good thanks to make a video about my City!

Hi Brad.. I was so much confused to choose my future home. You have given answer to all my questions and doubts. As a new immigrant, I have decided to Make my new Home Calgary. Thanks for covering this beautiful and informative video.
Thanks so much for watching, and I'm thrilled to hear you'll be calling Calgary home!
Wrong choice. Impossible finding a job or doctor despite this guy lying about it.
@@WizardHarry69 Calgary's unemployment rate is 5.9% - which is the same as Vancouvers. Toronto is WORSE at 6.5%. More good news - when you get a job in Calgary, the average income is higher than anywhere else in Canada. If you had a hard time finding a job/doctor here, I'm sorry, but the reality is its hard everywhere, but a bit easier here.
The video is great! Could you please tell me which communities are at 2:07 seconds and 5:30 seconds in the video? How much is the median house price there? Thanks!
Really enjoy your videos! Very interested in your opinion about builders in Alberta. As someone from Vancouver, who are the trusted homebuilders in Calgary that newcomers should consider buying from?
I am a born Calgarian thinking of moving back. I have lived a third of my life in Ontario and China. This was a great video and very accurate. In fact, I will look up some of your other videos and see if I can't figure out a new home. I have already invested in the building Gallery project downtown (ear shot of the Calgary tower) and other projects.
Thanks so much!
Same...I have lived in Toronto for the past 20 ish yrs... debating to go back
Love this increadible city, n your useful video
Great video
Thank you!
Also the health care is getting worse. It took me three years to find a family doctor without changing the family doctors all the time, most of my friends who are from other countries and do not have regular family doctors. If you want to see the specialists , you need to wait for 6 months - one year for a check out. Also there is no rent control in Alberta, there are many people who move in Alberta, many people who have an issue to find a affordable rental properties. However, it is still cheaper than other big cities like Vancouver, Toronto or Montreal.
Oh look another comment where this clown realtor doesn't like or comment because it goes against his motive about lying about calgary to trick more people into migrating and suffer to see his investments appreciate.
Wow !! Happy to be a Calgarian.😊❤
Us too! Thanks for watching!
