  • Despite being in the next-door province, it took us until now to actually visit Calgary, Alberta. We spent just under a week there, with a few day trips as well. This video only covers the things we did/saw while we were in the city itself. The highlight for me was the Calgary Zoo (the penguins of course). Stay tuned for the day trips!

Visited Calgary late july these year and had an amazing visit, i was surprised how cheap it was compared to the other cities in Canada, in first hand i came to Calgary cause it was nearest place to get to Banff but giving the city 3 days i can't say that i regret, friendly people, good resturants and very safe, anyone who gets to Canada first time i highly recommend visit Calgary, special stephen collin avenue. Greetings from Sweden😃🤩💙

omg, what a beautifully produced and edited video. Also, so relaxing... from your tone of voice to the delicate soundtrack in the background. Never for a moment I felt the urge of fast-forwarding the video. It was quite the contrary: I was laid down here just enjoying the trip as if I was there with you. I didn’t know you and actually just stumbled across this video and I’m really glad I did it. Nice job! Thank you. Greetings from Brazil. :)

Next time you go to calgary, I suggest going to Calaway park and maybe heritage park! They're pretty cool and Heritage park was my childhood. And Peter's was always a treat my parents would get us as we drove by, Black licorice being my favourite milkshake along with the onion rings.

Living in Calgary for 20 years and, interestingly, I rarely do any of these activities. As a local, the best part about living in Calgary is being able to earn a living while accessing Kananaskis mountain activities in less than 30 minutes! Within a 1-3 hour drive, it also has access to Canmore, Banff, Lake Louise, Kicking Horse Mountain (Golden), Fernie Alpine Resort and more!

@@alainouellet7794 There was a capex boom in the early mid 2000s to mid 2010s as the oil sands were built out. The extra 10s of billions of investment boosted jobs in the industry both in terms of numbers and compensation. Now there is a cashflow boom, but not a investment/jobs boom because markets are not rewarding growth, so the cash is used for buybacks, dividends and paying down debt. This is most easily visible in office vacancy rates...pre-2015 oil crash, downtown office vacancy was sitting just under 10%. Now its sitting 3 times higher around 34% (and only slightly from pre-covid levels around 28%)... that being said, things in the city are generally looking up, quite a bit more hustle and bustle around town.

Our city continues to create endless outward expansion of our city rather than building inwards. We will be connected to Okotoks and Airdrie in no-time. There is very little point in dealing with the constant and confusing downtown-construction(of course unless you work there), when they now build every neighborhood with almost everything you could need within 10kms. I stay away from downtown as much as possible, while quiet, the rampant drug use is becoming a much larger problem, and using transit is equally as uncomfortable.

You must visit nicks steakhouse, the Austrian club, winter club, the Israel cafe, visit the mall cinnamon bun store, sports store and lots of different foods, there are some nice pizza places, the Irish pub, the skiing resorts, lake Louise, the town of Banff, Canmore, some of the places where the Jamaican bobsled team visited and stayed, see some of the places where the English TV series Heartbeat were filmed in Calgary, the zoo, you also have Safeway's, Walmart, ice hockey shops, Calgary tower

We just drove there a second time! Only 12 hours switching with my son to drive. You get to see the scenery instead of sky!!! We went to the BC Lions game and stayed by the stadium. We then went to Banff, Lake Louise and Moraine lake. Moraine Lake is far more pretty than Louise! Couldn't believe the rich tourists from all over the world taking pictures of Louise the most famous lake in the world.Yes, the Rockies are spectacular, but Whistler is better. Two mountains and the coastal trees make the difference. North Van alone has this for picnics and hiking in the Grouse woods or Cypress. I feel like a spoiled brat being born in Vancouver! Voted the most beautiful city in North America. That says it all. Done the whole west coast (Frisco our fave) so Europe is next with a bus tour. Great video!!!

I saw both my omas and my best friends house in this from nose hill, You visited a lot of places i havnt been to and i live here. But nobody goes in to downtown that often. If only you came a few days later you could have seen the stampede. You of coarse had to go to peters the best food on earth.

    Born & raised Calgarian here.
    Just so you know,
    it is pronounced "Calgry".
    The second 'a' is silent.
    Also, yes, Calgary is known
as one of the windiest cities in Canada.
    For about 11 years now,
    the wind can be atrocious.

I am a Calgarian and like your video. The +15's may have an impact on street level activity but I use them extensively and they have created a 2nd level culture which is cool. Not to mention in the Winter it's way cleaner and faster to get around using the +15 network. Peter's Drive-In, Yuck, really bad low quality cardboard burgers, crinkle fries, and milk shakes that are so frozen that a straw cannot be put in. Avoid Peter's. The seagulls outside love the fries though. There are so many other good burger joints like, Boogies, Burger Burger, Clive Burger, Rocky's Burger Bus, ....

The +15 system can only truly be really appreciated when it's -30 out with a -40 wind chill. In that type of weather there is no "street life" LOL

Amazing video of my city of calgary.. it's cool to see a tourist perspective. Most videos I'd watch from others they just talk down on the city or are just misinformed about it.. once again amazing video
