The A340-600 is without doubt the "best looking" of all jetliners flying currently and an absolute joy to travel on. Real pity world oil prices have made it uneconomic compared with a 777.
Although I am not a big fan of the overall livery if EY, the gold base color is nice and extremely photogenic as depicted in this amazing clip. Thank you!

Climbing more steeply means more energy is "wasted" in gaining gravitational potential energy (height) than kinetic energy (speed). The A340 is considered inefficient compared to the 777, but compared to the 747, it is slightly improved, especially over the earlier variants.

Airbus not long ago announced it will be no longer manufacturing this incredible bird. the A340's will still flying i am assuming. But i am afraid that there will be no others to complete the A340's legacy. This IS AN END OF AN ERA! we must stand and wave to the heart & soal of the mighty A340! SALUTE to the A340's and remember them forever in your hearts! SALUTE!
Needs a higher thrust output per engine in my opinion. Very slow climb on this airplane which means greater fuel burn. Current output is around 61,000lbs per engine. Switch to the GEnx-1B70 and get 72,300lbs per engine at around the same weight.

Also, the GEnx you're referring to could not be fitted to the -500/600 as it is a bleedless engine. Lastly, at the very least, the Genx weighs 2000lbs heavier than the Trent. Look at the tcds if you don't believe me. Next time zip it and enjoy the video!

The A340-600 seats 8 seats across in a 2-4-2 configuration and yet it still looks proportionally narrow due to its length!
