hyundia ix35
Thank you so much for this demonstration, thank you for not having background music and speaking clearly and filming all the details , my rear brakes and pollen filter need to be replaced, thanks to you , I am looking forward to giving it a go and taking my wife out with the money I will save... Cheers
Well explained and filmed video!aA few points ;
1.Tie up with string, cable tie ,bungee cord ,the caliper when off.
2.Could use brake clean fluid.
3.Grease back of pads with copper paste
4.Check slider pins move freely (silicone grease again if not).
5.I silicone spray rubber covers to preserve rubber
6.PUMP brakes a few times before driving on road.
Hope these points help someone!
I had no idea BEFORE watching this video. A view of this and all became clear. Brilliant instruction video. The tricky bit was pushing the piston back, but again, easy when you are shown how. Thank you so much, really good job!
Thank you, this video is the best one I found on RUclips in explaining a complete walkthrou.
remember to loosen your brake fluid cap and put a rag around it, as your pushing the piston back in on the brake caliper any previous top-up fluid may overspill.if you dont loosen the cap the piston will be really hard to return.
Great video. I usually use break cleaner while it's apart, and use an old pad and a g clamp to push the piston in. Just make sure your brake fluid cap is off and carefully remove some fluid if you have to. It will rise as the piston pushes in. Nicely explained and clear video.
Got "ripped off" by Hyundai. Will do my own from now on. Thanks for easy instructions.
hello thanks for the video I have a 2014 Kia Sportage and it has the same brakes
Thanks so much for the comprehensive walkthrough! You’ve given me the confidence to have a crack at my ix35.
Me to, im gonna give it a go now that ive seen this video
Very well explained
Great and useful, you are a nice teacher!
Great instruction. Next video you do on brakes you should mention greasing the slides on the caliper to minimise uneven pad wear.
i was wondering if anyone picked up on this
Wow, what a great video. Thanks for instructions, so easy to understand.
Thanks for a brilliant video mate. Did the pads on my Mrs. car at the weekend with your video next to me. Done in 30 minutes and save me a few quid. Good man!

Top Notch Información
thank you so much
Many thanks !
thank you
Hello, could anyone advise me regarding rear fitment discs/pads, is it necessary to wind back the handbrake mechanism .... if so is there any special tool required to do so, many thanks
Do we have to undo the brake fluid cap so the pressure can go back up the line?
That is best practice as it alleviates the pressure in the reservoir as the piston is being pushed back and forcing the fluid back - it also makes the job of pushing the piston back a lot easier. Just remember to wrap an old cloth around the loosened reservoir cap to catch any possible overspill.
would this work for i30 2012?
Far tornare indietro il pistoncino della pinza in quel modo ma stiamo scherzando?😅 più volentieri un morsetto da falegname.
that's all botch
I've been a mechanic for 34 years....nothing botch about that. A few extra things I would have done, but all the critical and safety elements were covered here. Perfect for a straight pad change. Even for someone like you.
