Fried and Sasaki make sense to me. You mentioned you wanted GREAT pitching. Fried is an elite ace. If we want EXCELLENCY, we have to make sure SASAKI looks no further than the Dodgers. Sasaki can be the best pitcher in baseball, and Yamamoto isn't too far behind. If we can get both of these guys, that's all we need. I don't oppose Snell, but Boras won't let him sign for a reasonable price and I'm honestly tired of playing Boras' game.
Just gotta remember. Fried got cooked by the Padres in October this year. Amazing pitcher, but also not a great look if the Dodgers biggest competition has his number.

Ohtani is just gravy. He can no longer be considered a full time starting pitcher.
Speaking nothing but the truth 💯. Why is it so difficult for everyone to back up the concept of tweaking the system, return the main core of players (free agents) who just practically dominated the postseason and won a WS, and just run it back 🤔
How many “big games” has he pitched the past two season?? He was injured the entire 2023 season and played zero games. 2024, he was 1-6 with a 5.38 ERA. So he’s literally won one game in two seasons!?? You’re stoned! Fake fans.
@LosDoyerss apparently you didn't watch the past postseason when he pitched and pitched spectacular and had it not been for the defensive farts by the infield his ERA in the postseason would have been miniscule at best. How much bigger do games get than the postseason games? And even if you were to try your argument about being injured over the last couple of years, that would still be defeated by the argument that Walker Buehler has pitched in 3 game 3 series for the Dodgers and his record is 3-0, and the guy did just complete the closeout in the championship game for the WS. If those aren't big games performances for you then I don't know what is. The Dodgers should try to bring Buehler back and run it again.
I also think Blake Snell because ties with Friedman (Tampa Bay). But will he be okay being taken out too early? He didn’t look too happy being taken out in the WS. Hope he can see the plan to win (and save his arm).
Roki!!! And Fried!! Resign Walker Buehler 🙏 please That would help make an epic 6 man Rotation! If for some reason we can't get one of the above names then we should go after Eovaldi
I think Snell would be an unnecessary overpay, but for those complaining Snell doesn’t go deep enough into games, remember that in his last 14 starts (July - September), Snell pitched 6 innings or more 10x, finished at least 7 innings 4x and had one CG. He’s more durable than anyone currently on the Dodgers staff.
No to Blake Snell, He is a Boras client and will cost way too much for a pitcher who alternated between being very good one year and very bad the next. No inning eater for the regular season? Our only reliable pitcher last season was Galvin Stone. You figure a 6-man rotation each pitcher should get 20 or less starts and 120+ innings or less.
The rich get richer, to replace the POS Urias, meaning the all star lefty in the rotation, Im taking another Harvard Westlake kid in Fried. Bring him back home
I’m not sold on Snell. He didn’t handle the situation well when he was taken out of the WS game against the Dodgers. Bad karma. Snell didn’t win when with the Padres and he’s moving from team to team and continues to burn bridges. Fried is a local So Cal guy and his hero is Koufax and is more of a team guy. His pitching style is different where batters make contact but usually ground balls. This will make other Dodger pitchers more effective.
The issue with Snell is if he loses any velocity he will get smashed because he doesn’t have the location to hit his spots. Anything over 5 years would be too risky and it will likely require 6 or 7 years. Fried is the best option in my opinion. He can likely be signed for only 5 years (Burnes will require 7 years) and he has all the tools necessary to be great into his late 30s. He would also help a lot with the development of Feris. Its crazy how identical Feris is to where Fried was at the same age. Exact same pitch mix. Both 6’4 lefties. This of course is assuming the rumors are true that they don’t want to give Burnes seven years 200 million, which is obviously what it would take to sign him
We might need 8-9 starters. To think decades ago many guys pitched 200- no problem. One arm injury & your’re injury prone? I guess Miller, May, Kershaw, Stone, Sheenan, others are no guarantee next year? Walker probably won’t be back & Gonslin is unreliable. Kersh needs to retire.
I think it’s a distinct possibility the Dodgers may not sign anyone this postseason and wait till the trade deadline next season to see where they are…we basically have all our needs fulfilled to get us through the first half of the season with the best record or in striking distance of the best record.. It’s not even a done deal with Teo..there are signs he may not come back either…
I would rather have Fried. We need consistency not another all or nothing pitcher like Snell. Burnes isn’t worth as we need another lefty and we should have 4 dominant right handers in Glasnow, Yoshi, Sasaki and Buehler. ( guessing we get those )

I would like to see Dodgers sign Corbin Burnes. Even if he's earning 30 to 35k per season, he and Ohtani will cost 37K between the two. That's the advantage of Ohtani's deferred salary. Burnes, Yamamoto, Glasnow, Fried and or Sasaki would be solid. I don't really trust May, Gonsolin, Kershaw or Stone staying healthy or productive when it counts.
