Wow I don't know anything about sewing I only watched the video to learn what material were used because I was gonna get one made in memory of my dad who passed away from covid. I didn't even need to watch the hole video but it was pretty interesting just to watch it get done so I did nice work
Nice creation! I'm hoping to make a nice jacket for my boyfriend, we're both tall guys and im always happy to find male sewing creation channels! cheers
Amazing! It turned out so cool! I’m currently working on a varsity jacket myself and was wondering if there’s an order to adding the ribbing on? Like cuffs then collar then waist, or is it done another way? Sorry if this is a dumb question I can’t wrap my head around it rn 😵💫
Doesn't matter what order. Usually most pattern instructions will say the waist last uf you need to blind hand stitch at rhe end, but it literally doesn't matter as cuffs have nothing to do with collars which have nothing to do with the hem
some things to change for the future. the welt pockets, don't sew a rectangle just the parallels first then flip them and sew the duck tails. (this removes the bulk you had. Also make sure to top stitch the edges around the jacket.
"For all two of you who dont know" It is me. I am two. Im just planning on making the jacket i designed for one of my characters because i think it's cool, and these are always fun to watch when im in that zone
I have a dehen jacket i bought two sizes larger than my usual. I wanted to layer it but the shoulders and body are a little too big. Anyways, would you ever take on a student? I’d love to learn from somebody around my age. I just want to alter my clothes and make some dope piece! 🤙🏽⚡️
hi there ! Im actually looking for the tutorials how to put on the button in front of the jacket. so, im so appreciate it if you can share on how you do that. thank you in advance . see you soon !
How do you determine the measurements? Idk how to start getting into this because I dont know if I should start with using purchased patterns or learning it this way. I just dont get it tho, how you draft the measurements/pattern
If you're starting off, I definitely recommend taking measurements from something that already Fits well. But buying those pre-made patterns work well too
@@thetAlltAilor Hey Chad. Go to the 8:09 mark. "Do you see these two slashes?" is what you ask. Yep. I see 'em. Welt pockets are supposed to meet in the middle. Those don't. Not only do they not meet in the middle, the top welt overlapped the bottom one, making it difficult to stick ones' hand in the pocket since the pocket orientation was basically horizontal. Now, had it been the other way around, with the bottom welt slightly overlapping the top one, then (although it still wouldn't have been technically "correct" placement wise), it would have been easier to access the pocket. Still, a great job overall, my compliments on that. It troubles me a bit that you think the welts were ok, but as long as the client was fine with them, that's all that matters. No offense meant, btw. Although this is my first time watching your channel, I think that you're a talented and cheerful sewist. You got skills, dear.

love the top down shot of you on the sowing machine
Favourite typa varsity jacket is the one with the workwear collar instead of the bomber collar
Honestly, I feel that. They both look nice to me though
Nice creation! I'm hoping to make a nice jacket for my boyfriend, we're both tall guys and im always happy to find male sewing creation channels!

Came here for this because my brain is so confused when it comes to this
I was holding my breath while you cut the welt pocket! It's always so stressful.
Lol its definitely tricky
Hi what fabric do I use for this jacket?
I’m new to this sewing thing
Bro. J dilla. You’re awesome
I want you to make the old school chicago style varsity cardigan sweater, with trimmings and belts, I wanna learn that as well. Good video btw
That's a great suggestion honestly I'll add it to the list
Did you add interfacing to your sleeves,? wow I wish I could stand beside you and make that jacket, I love it. ❤
Thank you! The sleeves are so thick as is they don't really need it so not on thus jacket. I aslo didn't add shoulder pads either
This helped a lot, im just about to start gathering the fabric for mine!
I'd love to see what you come up with
@@thetAlltAilor its actually going pretty well!

Some local fabric store here in Toronto. I think this one was from King Textiles
Whats the best fabric to get volume on the sleeves?
Something with some "batting" in it or you could add shoulder pads
How do you determine the measurements? Idk how to start getting into this because I dont know if I should start with using purchased patterns or learning it this way. I just dont get it tho, how you draft the measurements/pattern

Do you have a IG?

Lol it's not for me
The construction was good except for the welt pockets. Really poor job on those.
I think they turned out well. What specifically was wrong on em?
