I’ve been using this knot exclusively since I learned about it a few years ago. I tried to “re-learn” the Half Windsor the other day just out of curiosity but it didn’t go well and like you said, it’s bulkier. The Pratt Knot strikes the perfect balance of simplicity and symmetry.

My new favorite knot, thank you for this great explanation. Been using the full windsor in professional settings for the last 7 years but I'm a taller person and I always had to use a very short tail when tying full-windsor.
The windsor and four in hand knots kept leaving my thin part super long for my tie length/body. This knot fixed that for me and looks better anyway. Great tutorial 2 years later

Yeah the Half Windsor / Windsor seems to require a lot of tie. Glad you’re a fellow Pratt knotter
@@EffortlessGentTV Indeed they require a lot of tie. Hey what kind of shirt are you wearing on those videos released yesterday?

I taught this knot to my groomsmen, after I learned it from this video. Everyone looked great
Finally. Something smaller than a half Windsor but actually symmetrical unlike the four in hand. Life saver
