Be careful, figure out what caused it, fix it then try again. Good luck

Great information. Ive been having trachea squeezes with going below 20 meters depth. This video gave me a lot of insight on why it probably happens and what i can do to from now. Thank you!!!

I love your actitud, very honest, and your channel!! I will really try to go next year for a mentorship with you, im more interested in all the discipline and control of the mind and body than in meters, i just want to enjoy the experience.
    All the best to you!!

I think I got a little traquea squees in my last 28m dive (little blood coming from my nose after the diving sesion). I know that I have a lot to fix in terms of relaxation, technique and equalization so I not moving any deeper before solving those issues.
Thank you very much. your words made a lot of sense to me .

it sounds more like a sinus squeeze if the blood came from your nose

@@freedivepassion9498 finally I went to a doctor (otolaryngologist) and she found I had a little broken vein in my nose. She cauterized and told me it should be fine after some weeks. That was more than a month ago so I think Im ready to try it again.

Great video, you are an amazing coach! I would love to visit someday. Do you have coaches or instructors you recommend in the United States for those of us who can't make the trip?

Thanks mate, I suppose Johnny Sunnex in Dominica would be the closest person I can recommend

Man I’ve been spearing for 15 years up to 30m never had an issue. Did a 17m dive last year where I was unusually cold, equalising was a little hard due to sinus issues and contractions were strong, I had my first ever squeeze. No matter how long I have out and staying shallow I still re squeeze. Feel I have squeezed myself out of the sport now 🤦‍♂️ pretty gutted

      Sorry about that mate.
I think that since you had the squeeze, it is causing anxiety which is effecting your dive and causing you to squeeze.
You should get some coaching on your EQ, that should help.

Hi Harry, thanks for the great videos you are making for us. I have two questions related to this topic.
    1) Is it possible to completely recover from a lung squeeze, or once it happens you will always be prone to squeezing because you got some scars etc?
    2) Isn't doing FRC and RV dives a good way to do lung stretching? I imagined that if you went head up and really gently this would stretch them for you..
    Thanks

Hay, there is not solid answer, perhaps it is different according to physiology, but to talk from the experience of friends who have squeezed in the past and had x-rays later to check - there was no visible scaring of the lungs. The main thing is the squeeze came for a reason and if you don't change that reason it will happen again.
As for FRC and RV training for lung stretching, this can be a useful tool, but only when you know how to fully let go to the pressure and move below your RV and you can already mouthfill perfectly, this is not the case for most freedivers.
Thanks for the comment and best of luck with your training

Harry, I have a question related to this topic:
How deep IS too deep for me? Let me elaborate: I don't concider myself a freediver, but I've always had no trouble diving what non-freedivers may concider "deep". I don't have problems with equalization (at least in the depths I've been to) or suffer from any other 'bad feeling' whatsoever, when I've dive. I think my max depth is about 10m, dove down and came back up almost immediately. Nothing hurt during the dive or after it. I've never tried any PB, I just enjoy the diving and the experience. So how deep can I dive safely without risking injury on myself like the guy whom you are talking about at the start?
I have no interest diving more than 30-35m deep (IF I ever even want to train myself to that level) and for now, I just want to know the max safe depth for a non-freediver, so I know I won't go any deeper than that.
Thanks a lot in front for your answer and I hope all the best for you in future!

Hello, first it's my duty to inform you that you should always dive with a buddy who is trained in freediving specific rescues. To answer your question, there is no safe depth to avoid lung squeeze, everyone has different physiology, some will squeeze at 10 others at 200, the only way to know is to gradually build up your depth meter by meter.

No RSV , RV? exactly the opposite of Aharon Solomons.

Aharon and I agree on 99% of things. And I agree with Aharons logic for why he uses RV dives. But I never use them for my training or coaching. The consequences for fucking up are too high.
