This reminds me of the time where someone suggested that they should Croud Source Anime. Instead of working the Animators to Death they could pay some people to Animate different episodes/action sequences. Or Hell have them do it for free, that's basically what Fan Projects are. Imagine getting to say you officially helped make an episode of your favorite show. The idea needs to be ironed out, but with the right execution it could be great, or the worst thing to ever exist. But either way we need to let some of these Animators see the sun, it's been a couple years.
The fact that the best animated version of Berserk might come from the love of fan artists is so sad and awesome at the same time

@@dan.9093 we've gotten two panel scenes and a 5 second animation. We need more than just that but I do hope it does become the best version, right now tho kinda insulting to the 1997 version which had a fair amount of care put in for Miura to help approve of its adaptation

The golden age adaptations were pretty damn good too.
I want this to be an official studio now. Also "eclipse" is such a good name choice for a studio.

I hope these fan animations gets the big japanese studios to realize that there is an overwhelming demand for a proper Berserk anime adaptation
if it didn’t omit as much stuff as the other adaptations did and had some passion then it would be a masterpiece if made by a proper studio
I want someone to create a good one to one of the manga. Idc if the mf is jux in black and white. Or dull and gloomy colors.
I feel like the Japanese know but the newfound direction of glossy over cgi styled anime does not lend itself to doing a proper adaptation. They need a studio to seriously approach it in a mature manner in order to do justice to Miura.
When it comes to Berserk, we've seen how movies aren't as limited as anime. The Golden Age movies are the closest to depicting some of Berserk's nastier aspects:

Casca's attempted rape before Griffith saved her, Griffith forcing himself on Princess Charlotte, and insinuating the King wanted to do that himself, (which was true), Guts' ptsd after being raped by Donovan, etc.)
And then there's The Eclipse:
The movies did a hell of job with it; (no pun intended .) I don't think any other adaptation could ever surpass it.
Berserk's other arcs could work better on film than on TV:
Black Swordsman, Conviction, Lost Children and Birth Ceremony.
It'll probably take even longer to adapt the Millenium Falcon and Fantasia arcs.

Imagine if more artists will make a scene from different part of Berserk, so in the end they can build up one big movie with different styles.
That's literally just how all animation works except you left out storyboarding and character sheets to keep it consistent

You mean a sort of anthology ? The idea is cool but not for a consistent work of art like Berzerk imho. For something like BLAME! It could work because of the variety of styles and techniques used in the manga, the fact there is no good animation of this masterpiece is a crime against the cyberpunk genre.

We did in 1997 we got 22 episodes it was closer to the manga than the movies but still left out a lot of characters

Sorry to say but the best time to be a Berserk fan was when Miura was still with us. No matter how long it took for a chapter to come out, you know he would deliver and I was always beyond hyped when I learned a new chapter comes out soon. The new chapters by Mori sadly dont come anywhere near Miura level.

@@FrancoEvaristila verdad se ve super bien la animación al menos lo que hemos visto agarra las mejores cosas de el anime de 1997 y el manga y casca se parece un poco las películas de la edad dorada entonces podemos decir que agarraron las mejores cosas de cada adaptación que se ha hecho si siguen hasí será un trabajo de la mejor calidad

I like the colour and how gritty the visuals look while being smooth. It’s like a combination of the much loved 90s series with smooth movement of the latest CGI series. This is amazing work. Can’t wait to see more

I think any Berserk Adaptation should start with The Black Swordsman arc. The story was built from this point and I think it's important to have the context from Black Swordsman when going into Golden Age as it makes you ask questions and dread how things will turnout, it also enforces the idea of fate in berserk.
It is interesting to have that context ahead of time, but it's not important. Everything that is introduced in black swordsman is re-introduced at the end of golden age and lost children, which serves as a sort of re-tooling of the black swordsman arc but incorporating the skills Miura had acquired over years. By his own admission he didn't know where the story was going at all until he started writing golden age.
Berserk fans are lifelong fans, take all the time you need to perfect this. And good luck on your endeavors!

Way too excited ab this…Berserk is my favorite manga and holds a very special place in my heart. I love seeing people sharing that same feeling and wanting to do this story the justice it deserves with a quality animated adaptation, of which it’s been denied for so long (modernly speaking, but I do enjoy the movies). Especially now, it really speaks to the impact Kentaro Miura left on people with his story. Very excited to see where this goes!

I've never read the Berserk Manga. I wanted it since the last 5 years but I never had the motivation to do that but now this masterpice of a project starts and so I will also start reading the Manga because I want to be a part of this big project and support you guys :D

Do it ASAP mate! I have watched the 97' anime over a decade ago and started reading the manga last month. I literally fell in love with it. It is a pure masterpiece. The best read I have ever had. I am currently at Deluxe Volume 5 (by Dark Horse Comics) and can't wait to purchase and read the next volumes as soon as I can. I am incredibly sad Kentaro Miura passed away and did not get to finish his magnum opus but I bet wherever his soul is right now, that he is happy his best friend took over, and is going to finish his beloved story. The man had Guts and Berserk work living in his head since he was a teenager and he dedicated his life to this series (man literally turned into a vampire - lived and worked during the night and slept during the days).
gutts is the defenition of pushing to the limits. he’s only human and can swing a 200 pound sword like it’s nothing
To think that there’s so made fans working on there own little bit of the anime one day I hope that they will all come together and bring this anime back

The story of Berserk is 34yrs old (began in late 1989- early 1990). We're still waiting on a true adaptation, one that goes past the Golden age.
Thank God we're to the point that the Fans decided to adapt it themselves
if this works out hopefully you have the balls to faithfully recreate the lost children arc
even if its content might be considered repulsive by most it also deserves to by brought into the animated medium untouched
