    I found your channel today and you have already changed my life. You have given me more solutions in 10 minutes than years worth of work with community mental health teams. Thank you so much for creating your videos and being very open about your internal world, I hope you're really proud of your work

    I have painted my dreams previously and my experience was mostly that paintings amplify some feelings and energies from the dream. But I saw from your video that I can use the paintings in many other ways. For example asking questions about the dream or cutting out parts of the painting and moving them around, or adding details to previously painted figures in order to visualize my new understanding of the dream. Thank you! 🙂

      Thanks for sharing your experience! I think there is already a lot you can sense from painting the feelings and energy of the dream. Then there are other ways, as you said, where you can look at the different dream elements more systematically. Of course then the more systematic the process becomes, then the more easily it can become too analytic - so there are no good or bad ways. Glad to hear that you found some new ways from this video which you might try out!

      Yes, the process can become too analytic if I try to think about the dream. But actually when I look at the different dream elements more systematically it is like in systemic constellations. I am looking to the answers of some questions like "Who/What is missing or excluded?", "What is the issue here?" or "Why I am dreaming this dream?" and it is more about having a new perspective, seeing a new picture or a direct experience of the answer.

    Ideas / dream interpretation:
    -the couple as a healthy version of your own internal anima/animus
    -the hotel owner as a shadowy version of your inner animus who is somehow oppressing your inner anima
    - Or alternatively, these different figures representing external relationships, where there may be an unbalanced power dynamic rather than equality / harmony / safety

    I go through phases during which I remember many parts of my dreams, and I write them down. Then there are times when I don’t remember anything, or very little. I have never tried painting my dreams, but you have made me curious to do so.

      I use gouache and watercolor. The golden paint is this Gansai Tambi gold palette: amzn.to/3Yy7IG7 The other palette is a DIY from mixing up all left over gouache paints I had in tubes. :)

    I like the term "greater mind" rather than "unconscious," which is an old term based on questionable assumptions. It is not unconscious. That is projection. We are the ones who are not conscious of some portion of the contents of our mind.

      Interesting viewpoint, thank you for your perspective.
      Jung’s view of the unconscious is exactly that: the portion of our psyche (not just our mind) we are not conscious of.

    What paints do you use?

    • @iabet_jungian_art
      @iabet_jungian_art  Месяц назад +1

      The bigger paint palette is a bit DIY because its a lot of different gouache paints that I mixed into pans myself. But I definitely like gouache paints in general as they retain a matte finish while being opaque, unlike acrylics or watercolors. The smaller gold palette is watercolors.
