I have been to Kentwell three times. Little Hallingbury Primary School trip. Stansted Mountfitchet High School trip. And with my parents on birthday trip outing. But I did of course first time came across, layed eyes on Kentwell Hall from The Wind in the Willows 1996. I watched the vhs cassette of the movie drama production at home when I was a small boy. When I was at the place on the trip with hallingbury primary, I recognized the building from the film. I noticed that the water fountain prop had gone. The filming location for as Toad Hall.
I am the guy firing the musket at the start - I can assure you we were having a lovely time - so nice to be back in the 16th century with our Tudor family and folk with so many interesting questions. Thanks for sharing this lovely video:0)
Lorraine, thanks for putting this up. Nice to see so many of our Tudor family - and a few new faces? Hope to be back with you all next year, and to see some of you somewhere, some century, sooner.
We've been here several times, and were wondering whether to go again in 2023. It can get a bit samey, just like anywhere you go to a lot, but we probably will as we enjoy the day out. It's definately a good idea to take you own food and eat in the picnic area outside the main enterance.. Since they altered the cafeteria, the service is a lot slower, and the food very expensive.

I remember seeing a Portrait of King James the 1st. in an upstairs room in Kentwell Hall.
On the day of my birthday trip with mum and dad.
I went yesterday and did not know you could go upstairs 😅 I’ll be visiting again and will make sure I will if no permission needed .
