      @Brendan McCann Hes already average to above average for his position on D. Do you not see him hounding the opposing guards constantly? He gets at least a steal a game in limited minutes. I think hell be fine on D, and as long as he can hold his own there, hell be on the floor getting playing time. Which is good for him and the team.
      Member they said the same thing about Tatum coming out of college, now hes considered one of the better wing defenders in the league.

      I remember seeing Kyrie (as a Celtic, at least) AND Kemba get absolutely swallowed up at the rim. PP is already a better finisher than both so far in his career.

      @@johniam6797 only looked slow because 95% was hesitation. Pierce hesi was what Jahlen fake is nowadays - nearly unstopable. But yes Pritchard is a great pickup for the C's

    I remember reading an article about how Wyc Grousbec has seen Danny Ainge grin when Pritchard was still unselected during the first round draft as the Celtics had the next pick. He said he hasn't seen Ainge like that since they drafted Rondo.

      He is going to be our best true POINT GUARD since Rondo imo. IT, Kyrie, Kemba were more of the score first, "tiny 2" variety.

    I dont know if anyone remembers Sedale Threat but Pritchard moves very much like him. A very jercky, stop/start quickness that is almost impossible to guard.

    This dude has great potential to fit alongside The Jays for the forseeable future. Can get them open looks or just excel off the catch and shoot. Marcus is such a great defensive mentor for him too.

    Everyone talks about Trader Danny but nobody talks about Drafter Danny. Sure, taking JB and JT at 3 is great. But im more impressed with who hes drafted outside the top 10 lately. Terry Rozier, Robert Williams, Semi Ojeleye, Grant Williams, Tremont Waters, and Tacko Fall are all good role players, with Rozier probably starting (dont follow the Hornets). And now Pritchard, whose game right now reminds me of Mike Bibby and his ceiling could be as high as a Steve Nash once he's developed

    The sad reality of Payton Pritchard is that he makes it all too obvious how pathetically limited most NBA players are. The NBA had become a slow dance cuddle fest. Not worth watching. The Celtics should trade Pritchard. Hide him away somewhere. Because he shows everyone up. Hard to watch Pritchard's total game and have any respect at all for anyone else. Pritchard makes us remember why we used to love this game. The C's used to field teams regularly with five players on the floor with Pritchard's court awareness and grit. Today? It's all about post game hugs. That's fine. Go for it. Make love not war. All you can do is shoot. Big whoop.

      Nesmith will be fine, just look at Rob Williams or Terry Rozier as Examples that Stevens is tough on rookies. Jaylen Brown couldn’t get minutes over Jae Crowder under Stevens. Pritchard had 2 extra years of development over Nesmith and there was an opening with Kemba being out

      I can't make any judgment on Nesmith yet there was no summer league and a short preseason. Fast PP is just ready now, probably because he was a 4 year college guy.

      @@MrBacchus18 Plus Nesmith is mainly just a pure shooter, a lot harder to adapt to NBA range as a shooter as well as everything rather than coming in as a ball handling playmaker with a high basketball IQ

    if given a playing time even when kemba comes back im sure he and melo andother impressive rookies will go head to head for the ROY award.. This is not a kid or a rook he's more like a veteran maybe the result of playing 4 years in college. so entertaining to watch his energy and hustle will surely help the team.

    I love how this kid plays the game, but I am reserving judgement a little bit. I want to see how he responds to more attention from the defense some of these highlights are because teams were not really respecting him yet. But I am hyped that he looks like a real point guard and some insurance in case Kemba proves injury prone.
