Payton is insane. He is the player I look up to the most as a small guard. And its the the details that elevate him over other players. The change of pace, the precision, and the way he uses his body to penetrate and create space. Everything about his game is perfectly excecuted. He may not be the most athletic, or the biggest, but damn he proves that hard works really does pay off.

the countdown is super common in modern game and what all basketball camps encourage. game has changed to a fast tempo, shooting in 5 or 10 seconds is great cuz you have a better chance scoring on opponent percentage-wise when D isn't set and they're on the balls of their feet. super common bro. camps/practices also teach to shoot with 3 dribbles, 2 dribbles and even 1 dribble.

I remember when Yuta played on the Brooklyn Nets summer league team, he was aggressive and scored at will. The problem is the other players on the Brooklyn Nets summer league team stopped passing him the ball which looked like it was out of jealousy. Brooklyn Nets ended up not signing him but the Memphis Grizzlies did and put him on the G League team. I have never seen Yuta Wantanabe as aggressive as he was on the Brooklyn Nets team ever since, I hope he returns to that old form as he continues to play on the Toronto Raptors.
