Good video. Glad Jonny finally got a Southern guy who fishes shallow, muddy waters filled with wood and vegetation. The way most of us guys in the South fish.
Great to see someone on Millwood grew up fishing that lake in the 70's used to have alot of 6-8pound largemouths even before the Florida strain loved that lake
It's always nice to hear someone else say it. As I am like you I do not have a specific rod for throwing a specific bait. Don't get me wrong when I'm in the boat I have 5 Baitcaster and three spinning rods with me. And at least three rods when I use the kayak. But I buy sizes and Powers that I like and use them to throw any and everybody that I feel like. I use a 6.6 medium a 6.6 medium-heavy moderate a 6.6 medium-heavy fast 17 ft medium heavy. And in my spinning rods I use a 66 medium-fast. And a 7-foot medium-heavy and I throw any and every bait on those rods no matter what the conditions are and I have very good success. I get tired of you can only throw this bait on this rod
I love the tackle that Johnny and yourself are honest about...$100 rods and $50 reels that work. Not everyone can have a deck full of $400 combos...between that and the no-frills strait forward information is why I can really relate to what you guys are doing. Welcome to the fish the moment team! Keep it up!
Jimi, great show and information. I have been watching Jonny for a few years now. Just to be helpful if I may, i wanted to let you know i found it a bit hard to listen to you with the background music playing. otherwise, great job
Yes. Wind-hit muddy water is often better on lakes where the water is normally clear (3+ft of visibility). In this case, most of the lake will be clear and only a small part will be muddy. This usually happens after a big rain with runoff in the backs of creeks. But on lakes that are mostly muddy, finding clear water can be better. Though you can still catch them in dirty water as well in the right situations (lots of current or stable water that doesn’t really change)
10:37 -- Hell yeah! The only Googan Squad soft plastics that I've ever bought, were Bandito Bugs & Bandito Bug Jr.'s at walmart on clearance for $3. I'll buy anything on clearance.
this guy is great for the channel

Jimi, I like doing something different to. Guess we like to stand out in the crowd.
Are there any situations where the opposite situation would be true and the wind-hit muddy water is actually what you want to target?

What mount are you using for your camera in the back of the boat?
