It is utterly ridiculous for anyone to suggest that Vincent won't have a meaningful role in Rebirth. In the original game, Red XIII barely had any involvement before leaving Midgar beyond his meeting and helping in a boss fight. We got a lot even just in the final chapters of Remake. I expect no less for Vincent and even Cid.
Again I’m loving these quick videos! Super fun? Part of me thinks that Cid and Vincent aren’t playable now because they will be the party members that we control in part 3 while the rest are captive/lost/lifestream. I think the opening will be the cloud lifestream (can’t think of any other similar tutorial as the first two). Would be cool if then we get Cid, Vincent and Cait Sith and then need to find the rest
I definitely think that Vincent will take a more Bugenhagen type role but for the party when it comes to Hojo and Sephiroth instead of the planet. He can be the guy that gives us that exposition that tells us about his backstory, Lucrecia and Hojo, and the experiments that Hojo has done. I'd even like to hear him talking about Gast, and maybe give some explanation on what officially happened to him. I like the theory that the G labeled enemy you face in his lab is the body of Gast that Hojo turned into a monster.
In BC he did wake up for his x partner Veld. I always like to think he's just in this very deep torpor and needs quite a jolt to wake up. I think we will see compilation elements (we already have) w/ Vincent now because my boy is no longer an optional character. Forget the other games Nojima is including the books even, love him for the level of detail and expanding the ff7 world as he said he would. All this lore that was cut for time concerning Yuffie and Vincent will make it in this time and I'm here for it. That is why the Tsviets are already revealed imo. And! I want that conversation between Vincent and Sephiroth! PLZ! need to see/hear it!!!
Think Vincent will be kinda like Auron in FFX. Besides being cool as heck, he’ll drop the important info we need to know as well as be a bit of a guide to the party when it comes to learning about Hojo and Sephiroth.
Facts. I am shooketh that the cues werent read by many, Maybe im old AF or reaching. But when "Cloud" goes into the Shinra Manor, there are many triggers (no pun) that recall Dirge of Ceberus. I play that game almost twice a year. The elevator was a Dirge thing. Also the musical cues. Go back and watch the Dirge level where Vincent is in the Manor and "Deep Ground". Im sure the spiral staircase is still there, too iconic. Just not apparent yet. Specifically when Sephiroth is talking. I SCRUMPT. Yes.... Scrumpt. Its a genius business tactic to get the OGs talking and sell more OG units. After this trilology is complete, they made SURE to keep the cash cow going. All I know is that Cid is DEFINITELY going to be Lando at the end of Empire Strikes Back. And Lando to the rescue in part 3. There's no way they're going to miss using that dynamic.
So a couple of points-- we know they get to Nibelheim before Temple of the Ancients because we literally see Cid and Vincent standing in front of it in the last trailer. Secondly, (this part is questionable because sources are not consistent) sounds like we aren't even getting Vincent/Cid in any of the fights at all, not even guest characters. This might be why we don't see Cid/Vincent (or Aerith) in the last battle with Sephiroth. We're gonna control Vincent in Ever Crisis long before the main game (sadly). I agree Vincent will be the knowledge-sage if you will-- namely Sephiroth's backstory, especially since Red will be taking on his 15-year old persona now. I think they will touch on Chaos but we won't see him transform. Not sure if you've noticed, but Vincent's left eye has a Chaos glow (yellow ring) around his pupil. I think Hojo does have a personal vendetta against Vincent because as far as we know, no one else has ever dared to defy Hojo like Vincent has, and he makes it a point in OG to write about 'that Turk'. I don't think Vincent totally hates Hojo until they meet on the Sister Ray and Hojo calls Lucrecia 'that woman'. That's the first time we see Vincent get emotionally unleashed. He counted the experiments on him as a fair treatment until then. .....I'm holding out hope we AT LEAST get to have a Vincent boss fight when Cloud and co meet but I'm not gonna bank on it.
I hope they lean harder on Vincent's training as a Turk like they did in Advent Children. Guy figured out the entire villain plot before the movie even began and had taken steps to save people from the Remnants. He was an excellent Turk in his previous life and it'd be odd that all those skills and his impressive intelligence just vanishes. He just be an expert at gathering intelligence, tracking/hunting individuals, sabotage, infiltration, etc. Everything ShinRa's secret service would ordinarily be trained in and engage in. That alone can be a source of significant expanded interactions with him that are meaningful and not just useless filler for the sake of it.
As far as battle animations go, while he and Cid won't be playable, Rufus and Sonon are shoe ins for battle animations. They even gave Rufus a cape like battle dress specifically for his design in Remake. Will be neat to see if they make use of some of those assets.

He didn't speak much in the original FFVII and has always been presented as reserved and aloof, even in Advent Children. It would feel out of character for him to be the exposition guy, and that seems to be Red XIII's role in this game anyway. He may end up being the closest thing to an Obi-wan Kenobi or the Oracle (from The Matrix)-type character: someone who withholds key information from the heroes because they don't trust them with that knowledge. Which would be sensible, from Vincent's point of view: he doesn't know any of these people, one of them used to work for Shinra, another is a spy for Shinra, and they might not actually feel comfortable working with him given his background as a Turk.
I imagine we could possibly fight against Vincent at times in Rebirth. He's been experimented with by Hojo more so than Cloud I would say, so if Cloud has episodes where he can't control himself I have to imagine Vincent would be worse. This may be why he volunteers to sleep himself away rather than risk anyone harm. In OG when you activate his Limit you lose control of him in battle. I could see a scenario where Vincent becomes his Galian Beast form and goes to work and the party has to hold him back. Super curious, I can hardly wait.
Personally I think to keep it like the original. If/when he uses his LBs he'll turn into a Sonon/Summon type character until he's ko'd or the battle is over.
I think it would be interesting if Vincent's sleep was expanded upon. Perhaps he's sleeping for the same reason Aerith is sleeping in Zack's "world". Why is he sleeping? What is he dreaming of? Is "The Nightmares Beginning" his awakening? I think the assumption in the original game is that it was a sort of self imposed punishment or escape from reality. It would be cool if it was something more than that.

He has an interest in them going after Sephiroth. He would impart what he knows little by little. Makes perfect sense.
