I gave those top songs you mentioned a listen and I really enjoyed them ! I agree with what you said about Songs being in the same BPM, I feel that if I had anything negative to say about this band in general , that would be it. The drum patterns/ rhythms have a tendency to kinda be the same , but at the same time it’s also what makes them sound unique, you just know you are listening to Rotting Christ when you hear their music. I like this band more and more and will try to catch them live when I get a chance !! 🤘🏻
Yes exactly the thing is that the stuff we can criticise is the very thing what makes them who they are. Maybe after 2-3 more albums like this I wont like it anymore but until then I will just enjoy! I am pretty sure they will announce some tour soon for the autumn/spring so we can see them then. Thanks for watching.
Really great review, short and honest. I am 100% with you that the album grows on you with every listen, and that there could have been some variations in the tempo. It 's too static. If it had a couple of songs at a different pace, the album could have been a masterpiece. And that 's my main problem with it: it's not bad at all... far from it... but with such themes, titles and initial ideas it could have been an album to remember for many decades. Having said that, although I also love "La lettera De Diavolo", "Yggdrasil" and "Saoirse", for me the top top track of the album is "Pyx Lax Dax". Personally I consider it to be one of the best songs, not just of this album, but of Rotting Christ in general!
Informative as always! Thanks for sharing! Although I am not a Black Metal fan nor expert but I will try to give it a go. I saw them live too many years ago once in Athens and once in my home town Nicosia, Cyprus. The only song I heard from this album was the single "Saoirse" which I found it too repetitive, but I liked the sound of it. A personal opinion and it has nothing to do with the music itself: I don't like that they've chosen to write the title of the album in greeklish, I believe that "ΠΡΟ ΧΡΙΣΤΟΥ" using greek characters only would have been better. Other than that as I understand we have another classic Rotting Christ.🤘🇬🇷🤘
I think this band can serve as a great gateway band into Black Metal, it is often repetitive but I feel it can afford it somehow, I mean if a riff/melody is cool then milk it! I think using the Greek would have meant harder to optimise for search etc. that is probably the reasoning. thanks for watching
Love it or hate. Rotting christ will always be great band. Even if they recycling there old stuffs in 2 or 3 track but the final results is nice & beautiful. the only band that know how to do it in good way. And it's will reminds you for some old albums so you can revisit theme and knowing that the last album is not bad still good.
Some of it really feels very recycled, when I listened to "Sixth Day", I thought I have accidentally clicked "Ad Astra" from Sakis' Solo Project, exactly the same guitar lead harmonies... And also some lyrics passages are copied straight up, "let my fly away" etc.. Don't get me wrong, they are one of my favorite bands, but so many things keep reappearing, also the whole "fire/pyre" and "serve in heaven/rule in hell" motive from Heretics
I have mixed feelings about this album, first time i listened to this album i gave it a 4/10 after listening a couple more times i gave it a solid 5. I'm not used to this Rotting Christ , i want the old Aealo , A dead poem Rotting Christ. I don't know maybe it will grow on me but doubt it .
Yes totally understand, I am on the opposite end, I would pick this over the old Rotting Christ every day. And I totally get why people would not like this. I loved their last 2 albums and I feel that this is just more of that stuff. Not sure I will need the 4th album like that but who knows
Well, here in Greece, a war has begun against Rotting Christ and their new album .. The accusations: -They don’t play Black Metal anymore -They copy themselves -They became commercial -They put choral vocals -They need more clear vocals/ another singer maybe -They… They…. They… They are guilty!!!! Betrayers!😅
Yes I can see that! I am just very happy that I was late to the party with this band and didn't really listen to them until 2016 or something so they are doing now the music that drew me too them. It is easy to sit and point fingers at musicians, the irony is that those who point the most fingers usually do nothing in life that anyone will remember.
@@metalandrockzoneThe chapter “Greek metalheads 40+” it’s funny, complicated and finally incomprehensible for someone who looks from outside. Conservatists all the way…
I am from Greece too... I really love to death some of their previous albums, with "Κατά Τον Δαίμονα Εαυτού" being the top moment for me. I do enjoy their latest releases too, but I consider this album, not bad at all, but a missed opportunity for another masterpiece. Perhaps Sakis needs to find another person to write (or co-write) the lyrics, just like Jim did during the old days. "Pro Xristou" deals with some amazing and ultra interesting subjects, has some great ideas, but I feel he just touched the surface of what could have been.
This is going too far with Rotting Christ. The last 4 albums are the same. Nice songs but always the same riffs and melodies. Always. And on this last album, there is even TWO songs with the same riff. It's too much. The crazy thing is that i really like those albums. But there is absolutely no originals anymore.
Thanks for watching and tell me what you think of this album with Rotting Christ.

Yes I like this stuff and don't care too much that it sounds like something they did before. It just grabs you this music. Thanks for watching
La lettera de diavolo is a fucking great song.
Totally agree, thanks for watcing
I only had a chance to listen to it once. I thought it was a little boring at times. I'll give it a few more listens to see if it grows on me.
just make sure to put the volume up, this albums needs to be loud

yes this album brings very little new for sure but I feel it is a continuation of the previous albums. thanks for watching

I love them to death but yes, they have been recycling stuff since after Aealo. Sad but true.
Thanks for watching
I have all rotting's album. I think they are great,i like very much the last album. Heretics and ritual were bad albums. Hail from Greece
Thanks for watching! I love both Heretics and Ritual but luckily we all have different tastes!

Ive always felt this band was overhyped. I gave them a shot seeing them live and i didnt care for them.
Yes I guess they are not for everyone. I saw them live and liked them
They are not for everyone, yes... but you may be the first person to say that didn't care for them after seeing them live.
Great video! Cheers, bro!
