1st gen tacomas are the best. Even with 300k miles if you have mechanical experience. You can swap the engine to a low milage engine and transmission and you're set for another 300k. Very dependable compact trucks.
I have the same model,2002...took real good care but engine lost compression at 315k,found a low mileage used one then tranny rebuild at 405, but zero rust here in N.C...at 420k, 500+ shouldn't faze it, still handles like it did new.

I am in New England and it is April 2022, right now with the current used truck Market especially 1st gen Tacoma 4x4 or 3rd gen 4Runner 7700 as clean as that Tacoma is that is a killer deal, the mileage doesn't matter as long as its not leaking/ smoking lol and it is clean the frame is clean ,right now I'm driving a 98 2.7 5 speed and it is sitting at 240k ,I also have a 96 4Runner 3.4 5-speed that old girl is running at 360k, I believe it isn't going to stop anytime soon, that truck is my wife's daily driver and it is ran everyday sometimes pretty hard if I know my wife, but yes 7700 would be a great deal here those trucks here are going for 10K Plus
I have a 04 TRD OFF-ROAD double cab Tacoma with 238,000 miles and I paid $9,000 for it. It was very well maintained with all the maintenance records. It came with flow master exhaust, fox lift kit with 33’ tires on 17’ wheels, and updated sound system. It’s been one of the best investments I made. I get people giving compliments all the time and also offers to buy it but i doubt I’ll ever sell it. It would have to be a ridiculous amount for me to even consider selling it. 😂

Watch the timing belt snap a week later and cook everything...who knows how well or not that truck has truly been taken care of..yes it was probably garage kept and not offroaded hard but thts not everything..
@@jayh6900 aren't they interference motors tho?? You break a chain/belt on a interference motor at more then 1800 or more rpms you can do a lotta damage real quick ya know..

Hell I'd do it myself on a 5vz motor honestly...but taking apart some if these newer engines can become a nightmare real fast if you dont have the proper tools especially if it's your first go round with said motor..

This is a California truck, if it hasn't been in a serious accident, everything else can be serviced. I would not consider these trucks as disposable just because of mileage. You know when a truck is clapped out. This one does not appear to be a clapped out one. $7k is fair in this climate being a DC with 4WD. You don't have to like it. If you can find these all day for claimed $3k and similar condition, you can flip them for twice the amount on an auction site.

My 2004 Tacoma is at 350k miles and runs like a champ! I did rebuild the top end at about 250k though.
Good find my guy on the Tacoma. Keep it for yourself, they are getting very hard to find. I have had mine for 18 years now since new.
