Nice review. No coil splitting either. Not sure if the pickup switches would be handy in a gig environment. But if it’s a throwback to the 60’s, the underwhelming pickups and questionable build fit the 1960’s genre perfectly. I was a teen then and that guitar would still be light years ahead of the $29.99 electrics hanging on a rack at the local Kmart or JCPenny store!
I would adjust your pick ups lowering or raising them to get different tones through the TV sounds like they’re muddy like they need to be lowered or raised try that joe
I bought the HH from Guild Direct for $256. That's the only reason I bought it .everything you said about the guitar is true. I thought about returning it, but I ended up keeping it because I liked the pickups, and it's stable. I play it quite a bit. Mine sounds similar to a telecaster or Gretch to my ear, and I like that. It's a no frills basic cheap guitar with goofy pickup switches and 23 frets , just quarky enough to be intriguing. So I kept it . This isn't a bad guitar, just different. I took a chance on it because i picked it up brand new at what i consider a fair price . I would never pay . $499 or evan $399 for this guitar.
Pretty cool guitar, for something a little different in a collection. This one's not for me, since you let us know the neck is girthy, and under-powered P/Us. Good job of showing us that thing. Hope your weekend is great, A-J. It's rainy and dreary down here. But it's OK b'c I'm just trying to lay low and get some rest, after an absolutely nuts week at work! LOL
Just wanted to give you a heads up that when I watched this vlog it showed that it was sponsored by Yousician. Then at the end there was a 30 second ad from Fender (again saying “sponsored”) regarding its music pro pedal. Hoping you are generating some income out of these “sponsorships”. Regardless, at least now you’re getting noticed by advertisers. Keep up the good work.
Thanks Joe, have a great weekend! 🎸🎸🎸
You too my friend!

Totally agree Harry! I was also a youngster in the 60"s! Be well.

It's a great looking guitar but with all It's flaws pickups, fit and finish etc...they definitely can be fixed with a bit of work.
Nice review!😊
Great review! Sharing your experience, and honest opinions, is always appreciated!
Nice review of likes/dislikes of the Surfliner, AJ---I'm not a big fan of "girthy" necks either--LOL!
Totally agree with your assessment. The whole guitar is underwhelming. Not sure what market Guild thought it was trying to reach.

Hey Jimmy! Rainy here as well. Great day to catch up on some "winks". Be well brother!
Joe what is the address for Amazon warehouse
www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss_2?url=search-alias%3Dwarehouse-deals&field-keywords=&crid=3DEGLLV25QE4G&sprefix=%2Cwarehouse-deals%2C181
I remember when a brand name like Guild used to mean something.
60's and 70's- yes! Starfire semi-hollow's were great. Acoustics still supposed to be good.

I was very close to buying one of those once when it was one of the few maple neck single coils that Sweetwater had. Glad I didn't.

Thank you for the heads up brother. Was totally unaware of this! Be well and have a great weekend.
