It certainly could be restored. The paperwork issue was only relevant at the time. 1. Today it would need a full inspection and overhaul anyway. 2. FRA Form 4 governs rebuilding now so 1940s or 1950s ICC paperwork would be irrelevant. Even on the Claremont & Concord 47 could have run again but an inspection would have been required to create a new condition analysis since no existing paperwork could do that.
It’s a real shame what happened with this loco. #47 was the first locomotive used by steamtown when they first started up. But unfortunately, her records were destroyed in a fire, so steam town was forced to shut her down after not even a month of service.
She has been freshly overhauled before sale too. All that was required as a full boiler inspection to essentially create new records. Now a full rebuild would have to be done due to the neglect over 55 years.
Nice work AGAIN Steve. You are an amazing modeller. I still haven't given up on my AFT route/sessions, by the way - though I've upgraded to TANE, since I finally have the hardware to run it.
I recall this engine running an Excursion service but a mysterious fire burn all her paperwork so she couldn't run anymore and if I'm correct she resides at Steamtown in Scranton Pennsylvania
If I remember, that was the only steam locomotive at the time at Steamtown to wear two or more whistles. I maybe wrong on that. 1961 I believe. Look in twilight of steam.

this was a big surprise Canadian national no.47 i first heard of this engine in a video by greenfrog videos (trying to remember what the title of the video was) i think this was one of the most short lived excursion engines to run with losing the paper work in a fire after a week of running seems short lived but at least it had a chance of running for awhile
quick question, does the whiteshore route need to come with JR dependences? because when I try downloading it, it said missing dependences and when I looked at the missing dependences it said unknown assent and I think one of the DLS items for that route were faulty
A&WP 290 47, arguably the most well known due to its stint operation on the Claremont & Concord. 49 is quite well known for being on display on the transport museum too.
Mr. Lerro, in regards to the fact that coal is a nonrenewable resource and on behalf of the CSR’s research and experimentation in cooperation with the NRRI, I was wondering what your overall thoughts were to using torrefied biomass as fuel for preserved steam locomotive operation.
I used a CN 3 chime that most smaller CN passenger engines had. That video is the whistle 47 had when it ran in excursion service, not confirmed to be the whistle it wore in revenue service. There is a difference.
@@kaseyleitchnextgen3281 I did include a revenue service engine. Which is what you see in the video, and why is has the 3 chime whistle most small passenger engines had.
How cool it looks to be one of the smaller sisters of the CN S-1-b 3254 LOL
I think we had very different ideas when you said "unusual" release. but still cool to see this odd ball
I love it!! You never fail to impress Mr. Lerro!
Cant wait to add this to my Steamtown roster
According to history the locomotive no longer runs and due to lack of paperwork can't be restored. It's still sitting on a siding rusting away
@@katerinakittycat3849 that doesn't mean he can't buy it

That is a shame. I wonder if they plan on making her a static display?

Question , can you make a U1-F 4-8-2 Canadian National because they are my faves.
I'm Surprised that there hasn't been a model for BM&R/R&N #425 yet.
I think this is the first time I seen a tank engine in America that wasn't just a switcher
On Manual Control mode, i managed to get this locomotive up to 710 MPH running light before derailing.
Very Nice Model!
Very nice. Keep up the good work.
Looks like a base for a CNJ one
now we just need the B&A 4-6-6Ts

I just spotted a goof at 1:59. When the 47 goes under the bridge you can see the smoke rising beside the smoke box.
Joshua Saxon that would be the “physX simulation” feature of the game that throws the smoke off the side when going under a bridge or tunnel.
