Hello everyone 💛 I Never would have expected my little 40 sub channel will be seen by so many friendly faces. Especially for an old game I like. I'm really glad so many people tuned in and enjoyed it. Only just recently, I was really happy when my video hit 2k views after the first two weeks. And now, I wake up after the New Year with 17k!!! I'm so happy that something I animated was seen by so many people. Genuinely not used to it. It made me wish I put more time into this project. Thank you to everyone who decided to like and comment. And the 150 who followed. I'm right now in the planning stage of something new. Might take a while, but I will try and not disappoint. This took me around a week and a half to make. If you are interested in the rough version. You can watch it with this link: ruclips.net/video/Q45Qvs_FWic/видео.html Also, feel free to follow me on my art accounts. I post almost everywhere: nohammel.carrd.co/
There are so many moments in the Zelda franchise where I thought "Why couldn't they have just gone around it", and this is definitely one of the biggest ones.
To be fair, considering the Master Sword is magic and can only be used the 'chosen one', it might refuse to be wielded if Link doesn't complete the puzzle.
Midna is one of the best characters in LoZ. And hits somewhere special; knowing we will never see her again. It is one thing, that the age she is around for never come back. But the fact she shattered the twilight mirror... Heart breaking.
I think that's one of the reasons I like her so much. Knowing that our time together was a finite one. And I still look back at the time we spent. And the growth she and the world went through. Enough to make this animatic 10 years later. It makes it all the more special when we see a glimpse of her in later games and external media like fan art or Hyrule Warriors. I want to continue contributing to that.
It made me cry so hard when I first played Twilight Princess. I saw it coming and I was screaming and begging Link to run into the mirror. Amazing character writing. It felt like a dear friend died in that cut-scene.
She also revolutionized the plot use of a companion character. The real sadness is realizing over the last 7 years that we probably won't see a Zelda character get this level of development again, because the only character who can get that much word count is someone with Link for almost all of the game.
@@Unf0rget It's possible, but companion characters are very common in Zelda. It's true that BotW broke the formula a bit, but there is no particular reason why we cannot get another well written companion in the future. Lineback from Phatom Hourglass and Zelda from Spirit Tracks stand out, for example. Midna is still my favorite though.
I love how after all that, she doesn't yell at him or anything. He's proud of himself and she tells him good job 💜 They've already been through so much by this point, it's nice to see them supporting each other
I'm really glad you appreciated that 💛I had a few rules with how I wanted to write their friendship since I wanted to actually show that they are close even in a limited run time. They may bicker, fight, tease. But at the end of the day. They have a genuine appreciation and understanding of each other. In all their eccentricities. I hope to expand and make new nice moments with these characters.
Yeah, I understand why so many stories default to "insult eachother" for friendship, but it genuinely does become refreshing and nice to see friends just... be actual friends.
Honestly it feels more in character this way based on how they act in the game than playfully insulting him would have. Yes, she does that, but not ALL the time. Especially not by this point in the game. Around the time of getting the Master Sword is when she starts to be more open with him.
@OtakuUnitedStudio Exactly. Which is why I'm glad to see that because yes she is very critical of him and calling him dumb when they first team up, but by this point they've shown they really care for each other. And sure a lot of people love Midna for her sass, and it would still make sense for her to have some snarky remark after waiting all that time, but she's proud of him here. I just found it really sweet.
I really love that Midna is tied so closely to the plot and actions while growing alongside them all with the player. It is something that I wish more games in general do and why Twilight Princess is my favourite ✨
"Let's go around it, the puzzle is stupid anyway" "Woof (Yes, the puzzle is easily skippable, but it's not for the avoidable chasm, it's literal the opening mechanism for the door across it)"
@@MiagolioMaxwell, I tried to keep the helmet on for a good chunk of the animatic. But I would say there's an odd satisfaction in figuring out how to draw the helmet at every angle, similar to the body marks.
I’m so happy to see this. I’m glad someone enjoys it as much as I do. When I got to this point, struggled but I was going to do it until I thought about doing it again, then I gave up and went online for the answer.
She my be snarky and talk down to Link, but I am glad that even after wasting away a whole day due to Link refusing to give up on this puzzle all she had to say was "Nice job Link." It shows dimensions to their relationship.
Hey artist. You're gonna go far. Keep doing art, keep using it to make people feel things. I've only just started taking art seriously after so many years of enjoying the art of others from outsiders to beginners to masters. Everyone has art inside of them, and it takes a lot of bravery to show that to people. A great artist is someone that publishes their work. Never stop being a great artist, no matter what.
I had my ups and downs when it came to art. But I never took any of them down. I now have eight years on my belt. And there's always going to be a new milestone for me to reach. The next level. Even if I knew I could have been a lot farther if I didn't slack off. But I'm hoping to make a change for the better and post more than last year. Since I only have posted my best work. @@Nohammel I feel the same way about 'slacking off' know I could have been better by now, but tbh, any skill you gain will show eventually, everything you work on is like a single cummulative effort. So I've decided to just relax and enjoy making projects and getting better : )
Ah, yes. That infamous puzzle. As much as I love this game; it is my favorite Zelda title and imo the best one, good GOD this puzzle can take a hike off a cliff. Granted once you know the solution it's easy, but for someone who was like, seven or eight at the time of playing the game, I struggled for multiple hours. Still love this game to death.
I do a yearly playthrough of this game because its my favorite in the series, currently just got done with the city in the sky lol, this animatic was awesome!
I think I played it three times because I wanted to play the un-mirror world that was locked to the easy mode, and later, I ran a blue heart hard mode run in the HD version. I'm hoping to try the game on Game Cube next since I played the Wii and HD versions before. Once I find it for a reasonable price.
Still to this day I have no idea how i solved this as a kid. It was literally by God's grace ALONE i was able to do it after banging my head against a wall for hours😭😭. I will never forget how tandomly i conpleted it, it was so anticlimactic that it wrapped back around to being hype. Man i love this game.
I love it so much. Also, yes, I never solved this as a kid, I had to resort to using the internet in 2010, when walkthroughs were barely coming around. I still have the cheat sheet in the game case, and I will never try to solve this puzzle without it. => Amazing animation.
