@snow not impossible, fake the 3d! for each create a sprite sheet for every 1.0 block, will need that for texturing. First, write code to scan the level, and find every block, it's id and position. next, shoot a ray from the players x/y pos straight forward untill it collides with another block, aquire that blocks id, then draw a square filled in the the ids texture from the sprite sheet, then you can scale it depending on the "dist: playerx, block". this will only show the block Infront of you though, so to see multiple blocks stacked on top of each other, you would have to shoot out multiple rays, and then draw the textured square at the corresponding coordinates & scale depending on the distance, then of course layer them correctly base on the xpos so block behind do not show up Infront.
