That is a very beautiful and luxurious car, it’s a pity it had several issues. Great customer service Joe, you went above and beyond to resolve the problems for the owner, well done❤.
I was selling the highest spec Volvo you have ever seen a few years ago, RAC told the prospective buyer there was a cruise fault, it kept slowing down when he approached other cars to overtake. 😂 I kid you not.
There was dealer that used to sell older Mercedes cars, he was quite posh and well spoken, tweed jacket type. He would tell customers these are expensive cars to run, if you can’t afford to fix it then please don’t buy it 😅
Proper good video fella! - peoples expectations are not (Okay not always) anything other than, you're a dealer and you have had me over. I can remember a nightmare with a Range Rover Vogue and a BMW 735iSE both bought circa 1990 that cost me and my Dad a fortune to put right. Neithger of them had anything like what cars like this had on them! Buy a premium luxury car cheap, don't expect the back up if you bought it new! How many other cars could you spend your dollar on for this price ??? UNTOLD - people, give the dealers a break!!!
Joe, love these Mercedes W221 S-class beautiful motors total class ! , I made sure my 2015 Mercedes ML W166 didn't have air suspension not worth the hassle ! Great video as always
Definitely, If you can get a petrol, non air ride you've a good'un The diesels like daily milage, like a run that's why I'd take a petrol...if you can find one 😢
It's a merc getting on for 15 years old. The windscreen price is the entry fee. The repairs don't get any cheaper. People want champagne cars for lemonade money that never break.
First Response what a bunch of con artists, go to court they don’t have a leg to stand on. Watching that phone call made me angry well done for keeping cool. Great episode
Would you charge the customer any fair wear and tear for the weeks of usage? I tried to return a car to hippo once that was pretty much missold on specs and they wanted 50p per mile driven
Not your fault it’s an end of life car, in reality it’s a buttered parsnip. Champagne motoring on lemonade money… it’s always going to be a lemon - otherwise we’d all buy one! Still the consumer laws are there to subsidise unrealistic expectations…
Enjoy your content mate but i think you're mad for Retailing a 16 year old S Class! It's gonna bounce back for warranty claims like its made out of rubber!
I bought an 2007 S320 from a dealer just outside Cirencester who turned out to be an absolute Conman and has got a long trail of very unhappy customers behind him! The car still has a finance marker against it which was taken out by the dealer (Auto Imperium) Richard Mark King . The finance company have been very good about it and because of all the evidence I supplied they have said they have no intention of repossessing the car from me and are pursuing the dealer for the outstanding balance. I questioned him about the finance before i bought it as i had done a full check and he guaranteed me it would be paid in full as soon as i paid for the car! So far i have spent 1k sorting out all the faults and stand to lose a further couple of grand due to the depreciation in the second hand car market.
Just about to buy a new vehicle and after watching this video i carried out a vehicle score using the promo code which works perfectly, the only concern following the report was there where 2 previous VRM changes and 1 previous owner indicated, should I be concerned? Overall the car had a very good score
While I'm looking at cars and local dealers reviews it seems like half of them are telling people to eff off when something goes wrong, Shouldn't be so difficult to pick a decent car for 5k . . . .
That is my kinda car, it's not a given that it will have loads of issues but if it does then yes they may be more expensive than some cheaper brands but again this is not 100%. Any thing French or German are expensive, and I don't think any thing is cheap any more.
@@ShiftingMetal I really try to stick to plain and simple mate,I've found it's best, trouble is customers want everything working, which is hard on big old tackle like that.
Nice to see a car trader who looks after a customer.
That is the whole point of paying the premium, buying cars from dealers. Otherwise why pay the markup if you have to sort everything yourself.
Good to see there are still honest car traders about
👍🏽
I was really scared of this guy after his first video. I very quickly realised he's a sound chap, seems very genuine.

Joe your most recent, and candid, Shifting Metal podcast really hit a chord. Thank you 🙏
Thanks for sharing that! 😊

That drone is upping the game Joe, great cinematics!

I’d love one of these! Nice bit of black interior for me! Gangster spec!

A lovely old thing and no quilted leather!

problem is over engineering great cars when new but so many things can go wrong when older

No I wouldn’t worry about plate changes, it means someone loved it enough to put their plate on 👍
Thanks for the response, love the channel

If you’re buying old luxury you can expect to spend new £ on it!☮️
110k that's just run in!
Wouldn't touch one with barge pole
Good job 😊
I don’t think 110,000 miles is a lot for a car that old and those mercs are bulletproof
Mate really good what azmotor

A 14 year old car with 100k miles develops faults........who knew? 🤔🙄 Another example of rediculous customer expectations
As the saying goes, there's nothing more expensive than a cheap Merc.
Boy, you go the extra mile(s) for customers.

Older, highish miles prestige car, loads to go wrong, why buy it in the first place, totally asking for trouble.
Tempted by the profit I guess
