I bought our youngest a 52 1.2 Polo as his first car about 3yrs ago for £400 - it was ok, a bit gutless but that’s no bad thing for a new driver! It did him for a few years but had to go to scrappy in end as costs to get through MOT we’re prohibitive
This unfortunately is the type of car going through at the moment, they are in the auctions for one reason, they are unsaleable elsewhere and cost a fortune to fix
I couldn't buy from an auction after I see what rubbish we send there. I work in rental cars and the ones sent to auction are purchased off the leasing company as they would cost too much to return in repairs. Most cars that come off rental are really good. But we have had cars with clutch issues, overheating and worse with as little as 20k on them.
My wife drives a 2002 Polo 9N - it’s battered and used as a van most of the time, but is still going strong at 122,000 miles, and is actually quite fun to drive. Cheap to run too!
Picasso I’d just £495 and sell as is having spent a couple of hours cleaning. Polo put a clutch Ibiza throw away Not really her fault BCA old stuff is usually end of life really
Hi Joe, presumably you only let Sophie buy these 3 cars just for content on your channel. I doubt a few hundred quid will break you, but sorting them out a bit will be interesting to watch. Keep up the great work, and don't forget about taking your shirt off one hot day!

Great video Joe, really enjoyed it. Though as soon as I seen the alloy wheels on that ibiza - I knew it had an exciting life... 🤣 Maybe see another another engine for it
I would throw a junkyard engine in the Ibiza, clean it, touch up the stone chips and sell it. With the Picasso I don't think it's worth properly fixing the dents. Just make it straight, patch the sills, paint the rear bumper with a rattle can (you can't make it worse) and clean it.
