Answers to a few common questions: Yes, you can set up the kit as a lefty. Yes, you can configure double bass. The glasses are to block the camera's light. Yes, you can change all the drum sounds and use different kits. While far from a "toy" the real world application of Aerodrums is more likely to be in the recording studio than in the practice room. This does not replace your drum set, but it does give you a "silent" recording option for those who need it. It doesn't have to "replace your drum set" to be useful! Thanks everyone!
I've always wanted to play drums (60 yrs old) but table and thigh drumming has been my limit due to "essential tremors". This system may be a way to experience it with the hope to progress into a real drum kit? Has there been drummers that had/has tremors? Thank-you for the time. ;-)
T'airn'KA I'd think it would work. this could be a good way to adapt yourself into drumming. i would encourage you to try it out, sir. have fun practising!
If it matters, I've started by hitting my thighs and air. If you pair this with a snare stand and a drum pad, you should be ok. But yes, definitely switch to an actual kit at some point.
I hope you make your goal. Saturday I pulled out my sticks and pad I'd gotten years ago but I had little to no control of my left hand and my right was noticeably better but won't be for long. So their back into another room.
It's amazing how well it read the weight each hit. When you began to play the jazz style measures, it was a very great exhibition of how accurate the software was.
Your dog on the chair while you are playing makes the video. Great video. I own Aerodrums and have used it to input drum patterns in my projects. Works great.
It sounded good!! This is the second review of this product that I have seen. This would probably be a really good practice tool for people living in apartments!!
Der Keksinator Something about that sentence is awesome. lol I wonder how big/reflective they have to be. Might be able to drill holes in golf balls or something, hit em with a coat of spray paint and epoxy them on the end of the sticks...wonder if it'd work...
Timothy Barth I think it will help your wrist to be more flexible and make you want to practice before the time you get it?But yes it will not feel the bounce from the stick ,there are other advantages
If you can play without rebound, then you can play with rebound. Practicing without rebound is actually a good thing especially if you already have a feel for a real drum set.
I feel like this would be really useful for me. I live in an apartment, but my brother and I have a lil studio/band room at my parents. If I'm just writing music and want to come up with drums while I'm in my apartment, I can just record with these, and send it to my brother real quick. then when we are able to go to my parents, actually record the drums on the real kit.
I FINALLY got mine to work. I was THIS close to sending them back. There is an issue with latency and the sound card that are in brand new laptops and I ended up having to download asio4all and I used my external USB sound card and plugged my headphones into that and it finally worked. Some of the issues that I'm having is it seems like any symbols that are in the top third of the screen are just very hard to trigger. A lot of it is a learning curve so maybe I'll get better at it. I'm really wanting to get an 80s Def Leppard hair band drum sound but I guess I might have to deal with midi for that?
Couldn't you essentially put objects in place of where your equipment is to be able to get audio response from the software, as well as a physical bounce or contact for your own comfort as a drummer?
Is there a way you could play to say the radio or cd through headphones and still use this? Also, is there an option for a 3D look to the drums...instead of just seeing the tops of everything?
Ok can somebody please help me find a melody or song that is similar to the beat that starts at 6:12, it sounds so good and reminds me of like an old timely beat, it would be much appreciated
I have SEVERAL QUESTIONS! X'D Can you reposition each individual drum on the virtual kit? Obviously every has a different playstyle. For example, since I'm a lefty, my hihat and crash cymbal MUST be on the left, following in order from left to right with the snare, hi tom, low tom, floor tom, and ride cymbal on the upper right corner. Also, why WOULDN'T you recommend someone using this to play full albums with? All your inputs seemed to register perfectly plus the cymbal swell feature really impressed meAs an aspiring drummer hobbyist, i rent a relatively small room (I don't have my own house, so i can't dedicate an entire room for an entire drumkit nor do I have the privacy to play as loud as i want) so portability and compact design is the way of my lifestyle. Last but not least, is it ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY to play in a dimly lit or completely dark room?!? Would it still work in a fully lit room (not BLINDINGLY bright light obviously, just normal everyday lighting conditions)? I'm thinking about taking this to work to play during my break or after my shift, so i can impress my friends and coworkers LIVE with my drumming skills. I think this "drumset" would be so sick to use to play along with my favorite songs. Definitely beats paying $50 each week to rent a drum room for a day at the local music store.
Is this a viable option to learn for someone who has never drummed before? I do not have the space or the option of playing loud drums in my appartment. Can I learn using this tool?
with this tech. you could have soft pads that are close to silent. so you can still hit something. they dont need sensors. only designed for being silent
ricke daillard That is absolutely not true my friend. I think aerodrums are awesome, but there’s no reason to say it compare with even an entry level electronic kit. The functionality is not even comparable, nor is it intended to be. Totally different products.
Hola yo soy de México, me podrías decir ¿ que precio tiene y donde lo puedo conseguir? Hello I'm from México, you can say me how much ? And were I can to buy?
So to be 100% clear.. It does not actually come with the camera? -just the ring light?? I just ordered one (the kit), and I was able to purchase a camera stand from the site at the same time, but now I'm concerned!! As I was going to give this as a gift and wanted to have it all ready to go I will also need to purchase a PS cam?
I just saw the British shark tank!! OMG this is really cool! they should do a guitar hero version of this! with Colors and lights etc.. Great playing Adam! my only question is... how do you do drum corp rolls with no skins to bounce off? also foot pedal heal rolls for quick double hits? do they work?
Perhaps you could play with the sticks on a practice pad which would replicate the bounce of a snare and hopefully the sensors will pick up the movements, and you could play with a kick pedal by itself to do double stroke kicks. I don't know if it would actually work but it's a thought.

ahhahaja, just to make sure, you are kidding, right? :D :D

RatHead Master possibly Mr Bean was the real inspiration of this new thing

Honestly after discover Aerodrums I checked if Mr Beans hands were wired. But they weren't haha

try these.... real simple units without all that extra gear. Just strap to your sticks or even your hands:

Ha! Take that air guitar!
Even on air drums you're amazing!
im better at air drums than real drums so i should probably buy this soon.
It sounded good!! This is the second review of this product that I have seen. This would probably be a really good practice tool for people living in apartments!!
Definitely not a good practice tool. More of a novelty than an actual drum set
@@MM-vs2et it is more than a novelty that is for sure. Drummers can actually gig with this.
Just got mine, the creators really care about Aerodrums and it shows in their forums, manuals and overall quality of the product!
Wonder what would happen if you used a practice pad for the snare so you could get all the cool flammy type stuff.
Der Keksinator Something about that sentence is awesome. lol

since it doesnt have a bounce on the stick. how likely is this kit to help you practicing for real drums?

i ruined too many jeans doing so. pads are better and i usually prefer them over any other medium.

This looks awesome. I've always wanted a drum kit but my parents would hate the noise of the banging and the space it takes. This may be right for me.
Pretty sure I am going to get them. They would be perfect for my Situation.
That's ridiculous! Everything is set up for it to fail badly but it performs like a dream! Someone is gonna be gigging with this soon.

Can it be switched to lefty drums?
Is there a way to program the left foot as another kick pedal as apposed to controlling the high hat? I ask because i like to use double bass.
Yeah you can double bass.
Would this be a good start to learning the drums?
i would love this on psvr
Does the kit comes with the camera now?
Does this work with EZDrummer?
I need to test this it may be very usefull in certain way 👏
Would buzz rolls work though?

Did you have any latency issues?
No
