for flat top of hair: in the 40s girls used to pin a ribbon just at the top of the nape so it holds the hair down while the rest is either in curlers over night or your're jusy, you know, brushed out your curls, put some pins in, and let the set while you do your make up. Me, I brush out, put the pins at about where I want the nape to dip in(clamp them higher and drag down so the top lays down) and then wet a comb(or just with your hands) go over the top all the way to the pins and let the hair get a wee bit damp. leave them to dry, spray hairspray, take out pins. Water is really the best hair setter
ooh the ribbon thing you mentioned is really interesting ! I usually clamp down my hair at the top (Where I want to dip to be), Half of my videos I start out with the clips in my hair LOL. I just didn't do it for this video. However I've never tried using a bit of water ....and thats SO smart! I don't know why I've never thought of that before! I also usually just put the clamps on, I don't drag them down like you mentioned, so I'll give that a try today! Thank you for the tips 💕💕💕
Your makeup and hair looks great as always! I love these videos where you just talk and catch us up, it’s really relaxing to listen to. I hope your dental procedure gets sorted out soon. It always sucks getting worked up for something and then it gets postponed :(
Thank you !! I want to do more of these videos! They are so fun and more laid back. Funny enough I couldn't vlog after I filmed this video because I got a call from the other dentist and they had a cancellation. They were able to do it yesterday! So its all done! so now I'm filming the vlog today.... Literally getting ready as I type this and I should've left my house already lol 😂
I'm somewhat of a skincare buff - My fave sunscreen is Eucerin dry touch oil control serum...fluid? (ok I literally can not ever remember the exact name though I've used it for years). It's for oily skin, so your make-up won't melt, rubs in very quickly, does not sting eyes(a big one for me) and is not preposterousy expensive. Not prone to sunscreen breakouts, so not sure about that, as it seems that chemical sunscreens tend to break people out, though(this one is chemical). I'd say try to pinpoint is it generally chemical sunscreens that break you out, or a certain ingredient. It is helpful to keep notes. Also, another lil advice: I was so used to applying foundation on my acne-ravaged skin in my early-mid 20s...and then, when I was some 25-6, I realised "My skin looks great, why would I waist my time an money on foundation"? I use some strategic concealer and set my entre face a bit with powder...and it takes a lot of worry away from "oh no, how does my base look?". It looks good, because there's no foundation to get messed up through the day. Your skin looks nice already, maybe you don't even need a foundation and so that "my foundation melts off due to my sunscreen" point becomes kind of solved Oh, and for eyeshadow - check out colourpop's website: I really like the quads in see through packaging. But also colourpop is generally known as great. I wouldn't chase cute packaging, honestly, these days it is very overpriced. You can try Charlotte Tilbury or Viseart, but I will always advise colourpop before them
hmm that Eucerin one sounds good ! I don't know if they sell it in Canada, I did a quick google search and we might not have it. I'll have to search a bit more. My skin doesn't tend to break out much tbh, I've been using the same products for years and I know they work. Sunscreen seems to be the only issue. I guess i like the evenness that comes from foundation especially since I film/take photos all the time. But thank you for the advice 💕 I'll definitely keep that in mind for days I'm not filming.
Don't apologize for not posting if your not feeling well you take take of you first! We will always be here for you! Your hair and make up look fantastic, but your so pretty to begin with! I hope you get your dental procedure done before your trip. The dentist should have been more prepared before you sat in the chair, the office should have known it didn't have what it needed the day before and called you! Anyways it happens what ya going to do! Take care! 😊
Thank you so much !! That's what I'm saying ! like surely the office has an inventory log, not sure why they would book that procedure if they don't have everything. Imagine they started and realized half way through 💀 I actually got a call as soon as I finished filming this video so I already had it done ! yay!
Thank you so much !! I would love to use larger sections but it just doesn't form a nice curl. Even if I leave them in for 16 hours lol. It doesn' help that my natural hair is pin straight haha
Packaging isn’t cute but Urban decay and Tarte do nice small eyeshadows. For nice packing, probably Charlotte Tillbury but it will be more expensive. Maybelline crayon lipsticks have great long lasting reds. And Zoeva for brushes
omg I haven't bought anything from urban decay for years! Last thing I bought were the Naked Palettes haha.Yeah the packaging isn't the best.... would it kill brands to make pretty packaging 😭 I'll look into it anyway ! Thank you ! 💕
If you are looking to invest in brushes for the long haul you might look into Louise Young. She's a makeup artist who has been in the industry for like 40 years and I recently read her book "Timeless - a century of iconic looks" which gives tons of looks all the way from the 1900s to the 1990s with a focus specifically on the 1940s, so it might be perfect for you!

Will you do a hair tutorial! Like how you put the curlers in too? ❤
You are a natural beauty. No makeup and you are still beautiful.
Thank you so much ! You are too sweet 💕💕

Like the style and colour of your slip😊

That nightgown is so pretty.
Thank you ! It's one of my favourites 😊
@@CarePinglo is it vintage?
I love your slip! Also, I have the same problem with my hair. My hair is too thick to do less rollers.

oooh that sounds amazing ! I'll look into it, thank you ! 😊
I bought similar fancy glasses to drink everything from them because I’m✨romanticising✨ my life 🥰
I think the volume on top looks great on you. Can you do a hairstyle with a lot more volume on top someday? Like for a party look
Is your nightgown vintage?
it's not ! I thrifted it but its not as old as it looks haha
Why are you so hyper?
Just my personality I guess 🤷🏻♀️
