    This video is for the automotive dashboard mold on the injection molding machine. The mold trial for #Automotivedashboard mold was done last weekend. The qualified samples have come out. This is one of the successful cases for the Automotive industry.
    The details of the dashboard mold are as follows.
    ●The plastic material is PP+PE.
    ●The cavity & core steel is 1.2738HH.
    ●Slides steel is 1.2344-HRC48-52.
    ●The injection system is a hot runner to a cold runner.
    ●The hot runner system includes 9 hot valve nozzles with a sequence injection controller.
    ●The dashboard mold was running on a 2800-ton injection molding machine.

    Very similar to what I did at Fiat. The tool weighed 40 tons and the machine was Engel. There I made an instrument panel injection program for Fiat 500L. The difference was that there were no sprues (just two around the glove box), and on the moving side there were only ejectors, without these sliders.

    I used to install molds this size, nothing but an eye bolt between you and your maker while you lay underneath in hydraulic oil and make your connections. Would also get on top of 1000 ton presses and adjust the robot with the machine running because the tool was so difficult to get started with multiple hot runners. The nerve racking part was putting in molds with a forklift while swinging it over people working below. What you have to do for money, lol.

      Thanks for your comments. This is 2800 ton injection press. We use the crane to lift the mold into the press. The hydraulic system will be used to clamp the mold on the press. It is not easy to do this work.

      The outside surface is probably textured if so it will need textured approximately 3 times before the tooling needs replaced.

      I've always said that it is very stupid to have so many different styles of cars. Can you imagine if the entire world settled on a few designs at most and focused on that. Cars would probably sell for about $3,000 usd and be very reliable and efficient. So much waste and inefficiency,.

    The mold we have for our ice fishing rod holder Mr.Jigger, was created out of a 2000 lb. block of steel and was over $17,000, I can only guess this one was in the hundreds of thousands dollar range. Beautiful craftsmanship on this mold.

      This is much safer than it looks... the gate that opens interlocks the machine and since the mould halves are horizontal there is not a danger from gravity as their is with a metal stamping press that opens vertically. In the near future you will be walking across streets where AGV's are waiting for the light to change and you to clear the crosswalk... this is lower risk.

      Machinists and mold makers used to have a hell of a time making those things years ago, but now with the computer systems that they have, mold making has become a lot easier.

      We have a 1150 ton that we have to walk into to pull out battery trays but the amount of security is insane. Even if you were left alone in there and someone closed the door on you and tried running a semi auto shot it wouldn't run.. ours has a pressure sensitive pad that covers the whole bottom tie bar to tie bar, front to back platen. I had left a box of clamps on it after a mold change and the machine wouldn't let me take the clamp forward even in setup mode, sometimes when we run certain jobs the runners will accumulate at the bottom and it'll set off that pressure sensitive plate. It's a milacron 1150 two shot with rotary table

    Hello sir , I want to know what is the size of an injection machine to manufacture Cars headlight . And is there standard moulds for the standard headlights for each type of car or what

      It depends on the type of headlight. For headlights, Normally Our used injection molding machines are 600 ton, 800 ton, and 1000 ton.

    The downside to such manufacturing is that twenty years or more from now when someone goes looking to replace the old cracked dash in their car it will be impossible to source a new one because the aftermarket can not replicate this, and the original manufactures have no interest in retaining the capacity to make new ones. With such a huge machine it's easy to see why...

      What cars last twenty years or more these days? They are not built to last and governmental regulations make sure of that as well with smog/safety restrictions which in the end make a vehicle no where near worth it to maintain at a certain point. Welcome to a society that waste so much.

      You don't even know what it is and you want to buy it? an Injection molding machine starts at $100,000 and goes up to $10 million USD dollars. You could never afford it.       Well done, can't imagine the complexity to produce such a quality part! Internal mounting brackets can be produced eliminating many secondary metal bolt on parts or operations, saving weight to produce better milage. What steel types/hardnesses are the cavity/core details? External surfaces may be color matched and/or textured, their quality is process related for gloss, color and shean (noticed the cooling lines to retain constant color and cycle). Hundreds of thousands of injection molding machines operate safely around the world each day, as long as the sliding gate is open the clamp can't close on the operator. Fifty seven year Tier 1 and 3 automotive injection mold designer.

      Thanks for your reminding. You are professional. This was only for the mold trial. We used the robot during mass production.

    Remember back in the 90's, even the cheapest cars had vinyl wrapped dashboards... now everything is leather imprinted hard plastic... wtf...
