Wish I could do something like this eventually one day. So beautiful and pretty to look at!

Hey there @Big Guy 45’s. Hope you get to do something like this as well. We did this as a backpacking trip. But an even simpler way to do this would be just to turn it into a day hike. Day hikes are a great way to get started and it doesn’t require as much equipment. Best!

Hi. I’ve been to Araviapa before but from the west entrance. We have a Subaru Forrester, you think that would be ok getting to the east trailhead ok?

Hi Matthew. It would be cutting it close. After you leave the parking lot where I parked my van, there is a big sign saying “4 Wheel Drive Recommended.” I don’t know how the Subaru clearance compares to a Ford Explorer, but my brother made it in a Ford Explorer (without 4 wheel drive). That being said, there is one particularly steep part (right at the start) that is really sketchy. My brother said he was pretty nervous doing it in his Explorer. Another option would be to hike to the trailhead from the parking lot (about a mile and a half if I remember correctly).

Did it last week , I think a Forester would make it.....just go slow and steady

Been up around the west side a lot....probably should have gone to the east side too as I used to live fairly close to there.

We’re looking forward to coming in from the other side as well - but just the opposite of you. We haven’t been to the west entrance yet. Thanks for watching.

If y’all ever go here again, make sure that kids have shoes from Vessi
