It's called patience. Sometimes you just have to walk away and come back later. It works with people too. Let cooler heads prevail Dylan. Much love from Kentucky brother. ❤
I'm aware of the differences, but for me I'm not so picky that a clone would hurt my feelings. 2 doors vs 4 doors would matter, but that's about it. In fact I almost bought a 4 door and was going to chop it and make it a 2 door. Just turned out to be in worse shape than I wanted to deal with. With the slim pickings stressing about originality could be the difference between owning one and never owning one. Originality can also be a lot more expensive.
When I was a kid, back in 1984, my neighbors had a 61 New Yorker, push button drive. I loved that push button engineering. Cool Mopar, They also had a 68 Coronet and 65 Dodge D100. All hot rodded and great rides. Mopar-wise, I'd love to do a 71 Newport drag n drive kinda thing. The 71 Newport: the car that thinks it's a house!
Do a RUclips search on how to fix your cruise control hahaha My cruise control on my truck stopped working and I did that and found out is was only a disconnected vacuum tube. Saved me hundreds of dollars on having it checked out at a service center.
That car is soooo badass! Worthy of a cosmetic restoration.... FYI Kirker paint is good and cheap, same crap The Eastwood Company rebrands as their own. Get after it Dylan!
What a cool video great to see it going I have one of these here in nz 4 door savoy like yours it's a flat 6 I have a 318 poly so it's going into it ive been looking forward to a video on the 58 Plymouth well worth the wait thanks brother
I know you like the rustoration deal but this one is one that screams to be painted and made to look nice. The fins and body lines are awesome. But I’m one that love that body style
Good to see the old 58 Plymouth getting some love again, and loved all the driving footage of where you live, lots of cool old cars and trucks still around, look after that Plymouth.
There can't be that many 58 Plymouth cars like this one left in this world. Finish restomod'n it, so it will be safe and fun to drive. Get her some proper interior, a few creature comforts and get her some paint. This car deserves the effort of paint and body.
Good video Dillon. Give the '58 some more love. Put a tach, and a good set of gauges. Don't forget to find the air vents. Sometimes they are a part of the basic heater/defroster mechanism.
I went to the Back to the 50's several years ago I think in 2014 or 2015 and I will never forget it either cause I met John Schneider from the Dukes of Hazzard and he was a really nice guy. I've also met Ben Jones/ cooter in Missouri about 20 years ago too.
This has to be one of my favorite cars out of your collection. I was raised around 60's-70's muscle but i absolutely adore a good portion of 50's and this one is a diamond in the rough
With that Sun beating down on the roof, That's going to make your head and face really hot. With no headliner insulation. That is awesome. That's the kind of car you just fix the squeaks and rattles and just drive it. Wish I could find something like that. But I'm disabled now. For the last 5 years and I can't work on cars like that anymore but I can keep mine running. 2003 Buick LeSabre that's rusted up but drives like new. My brother and I went and visited his daughter today. A nice 170 mi round trip drive no problem with great working air conditioning in 88° heat
This 58 is so much like the one Vic Morrow drove in the movie "California Kid". Same colors. I had two of the GM versions of the A833OD, in my 65 Impala SS and my 67 GMC. Even with good, tight shifters, speed shifting didn't happen.
Dylan, We loved your video on your 58 Plymouth! We have missed it! We would enjoy seeing it with a real headliner and for Bryer to upholster his door panels. He could! He's a bright young man. We're not big patina people and are secretly longing for a brilliant factory looking paint job. I know your money is like ours these days, there's 7 ways from Sunday pulling at what you make. But, I think if you could profit greatly if you would look on Coparts and see if you could find a totaled Hellcat, use it for content to install all the goodies ( engine, transmission, brakes, and whatever else you could make fit in the 58 would make 1 tremendous effort to follow! I know my friends would all be all over on Un every episode. Until those days, we are bound by each notification that you have a new video up to be firmly attached and glued to it! Thank you for making great content and being a Soul Mopar Man! God bless you and your family, William Griffith Farmerville, LA
Now seen all videos on the Plymouth. One of my favourite cars of all time even before christine 😂 thank you Dylan for putting this beauty back on the road 😂😂😂
Back to the 50's definitely is a massive show. I've been there last 3 years now and briefly met you there. And you are correct...oddly enough back to the 50's draws more cars than Street Machine Nationals which is open to all cars. Hope you can come back up again.
I got to meet and talk to you..was cool seeing you in person as well as the car.....I had 1950 dodge truk I swapped on a dakota frame there too...nice seeing all the updates
Great to see you in the twin cities! I’ve been to the 50s show but like the street machine show more. Didn’t go this year, my arthritis is a little too painful to walk very much so I watch it on RUclips! Missed the trains show at union station, for the same reason. Love your car, my brother had a 55 Plymouth wagon back in the day. Closest I came to 50s was a 64 442!
Takes for drive and says “that’s the hardest I’ve ever revved this thing. *318 screams in its unproven glory* (to bad they came with like 8.5:1 compression for cars factory, with two barrels, if they had four barrels and 10:1, man, they would make like 275 maybe closer to 300, but for 300 I would assume a slightly better cam at that point, or headers?) but they sadly came with the lower compression of a bread and butter motor, not preformance, otherwise, I would say a 318 and a Chevy 350 make good matches preformance wise.
Great Video On The Old ‘58 Plymouth (aka. Christine’s Sister) I’m So Glad You Decided To Do A Video With The ‘58 Plymouth, Give Her Some Showtime, What A Cool Car, Great Job You & Briar Have Done On Her.. I Appreciate Your Hard Work Good Sir, Safe Travels!!!!
Yess I definitely love the Old Plymouth Furys my self . Of course like most people the movie Christine Killer car got my attention and me into those style cars even tho I'm not much a Chrysler fan I still want a dodge challenger or Cuda or the Charger That fury sounds so good and the gearing definitely made it so much better , my 85 S10 needs a rear end swap my RPMs are to High in 4th with 373s I'm at like almost right at 3 grand at 65mph so hoping a 342 will help and find a 5-speed instead too
Buddy, I can relate to how your legs feel!!! I drove 2,200 miles on power tour this year in a standard 67 Mustang! Clutch and no cruise control!!!! my legs were getting pretty tired and numb!!!
My Mopar won't start up." At all it has brand new starter, alternator and head gaskets, battery is charged. No sound or clicks when I try to start it up. Recently had dealership put in brand new airbag switch of some kind. Now there is no start up. Plz someone help me on 07 Dodge charger 3.5l"?.

I love the part where Dylan's driving by a house and says, "Ooh! Fox body!" I didn't even see it - my eyes were fixed on the turquoise bumpside Ford.😂😂
Dylan this was a fun romp through your life along with your sidekick, Briar. 😊 I just happened earlier in my day to view a commercial that compared the 1958 Edsel to the Plymouth (shootout comparison) just like this one you have here, I'm curious if you have seen this video here on YT ?
I’m glad you got it back out it’s by far one of my favorite cars you have!!! You’ve got to let me know an update on the charger in the field I’ve been looking one since I stupidly sold mine. I don’t believe I’ve seen you work on one yet that would be awesome
Thanks for taking us along on the road trip. I gotta say I was most inspired by the overdrive manual transmission. See I have a 57 Savoy 2 door with a 3 on the tree and I dont think it would stand up to much more than a six cylinder that was in it. Gotta have a V8. I have several 440's but that small block just seems right in your car! Maybe you could put in a vintage air a/c and a stereo for creature comforts for those long road trips. I really like those bucket seats. You've given me many ideas for my car. Thanks!
Been watchin long enough to understand shiny isn’t a priority for you but if you’re ever gonna paint something this would be the one. These old forward look Mopars really look great with nice paint. Patina is fine for old trucks and hot-rods but these cars really pop with a nice finish on em no matter what color it is.
Hey 👋 Dylan what type of value would you put on the 58 Plymouth I've found one here in Florida it's been sitting in a barn for 40 years now and the owner is ready to sell it he has the original motor from it but he's put a brand new hellcat motor in it
My fave old-school Plymouth has to be the 48-49s. I love their faces, the lights, the grill. They make great Gassers. Very underrated, in comparison to the other Big Two. They're just handsome. Far as old-school Mopar trucks--46 to 49 Dodges, very artsy design, especially the front clip. (Riding with Dylan in the 58, me, in an Elmer Fudd voice): "Be vowy vowy quiet, I'm hunting Mopars!"
Glad to see this car back on the channel. I was hoping to see it again. I loved your flashback to BTTFs. I was chatting with you on that Saturday when the planes did the flyover...oh, and I am fairly certain I know who owns that Cadillac you were digging on.
Hey Buddy. I have a Ram too and sometimes the cruise control doesn’t work but I have found if I press the top part of the cruise button hard, it starts working again.
That old Plymouth is super cool! But I heard you mention a Dodge Aspen R/ T at the end of the video so I hope you go back and ask about it maybe a future project? I have two of them 79-80 and I love the F body Mopar!
next after making sure all the mechanicals are in order I'd try to re-paint that dash and find a new steering wheel for it. there are ways to make a faux-patina and have it match the outer shell. Puddin has a good video on it where he was doing his wagon.
Just need to add some vintage air to the old Plymouth to make it a more pleasant ride on those hot days, and maybe do something to improve the engine cooling
Dylan Hope you're doing well... Left a like as always....I enjoyed your dad being on the truck video...Hope to see that soon... Honor thy father you and everyone be blessed...
Love the videos! Glad to see the old Plymouth back! I think it might be time to invest in a clip on mic. Almost impossible to hear you on drives or when rigs are running.
i haven't been to that show in a few years but it is one of the big events in st. paul for the year. it is nice to see so much detroit iron still on the roads after all these years. it might be a good thing i didn't go as i'm itching to buy an old classic lol.
Man, those cars are so cool, and you did an awesome job! My only complaint it it *really* needs a stock style bench seat
One day we’ll go back. This was a cheap and easy solution to get seats and seat belts.
@DylanMcCoolVideo definitely understandable, that original seat was definitely not in great shape for any kind of use
It's called patience. Sometimes you just have to walk away and come back later. It works with people too. Let cooler heads prevail Dylan. Much love from Kentucky brother. ❤
Definitely Remember it, I have been waiting patiently for you to come back to CHRISTINE'S SISTER.
Think we should call her Catherine.
I was thinking of Christian. The opposite of that ol' red evil car😄
Definitely Christine 2.0. I bet the radio turns on and off by itself playing songs to express its emotions. 😮
When I met my husband he was driving Christine. It was a little better, a Belvedere, rather than a fury.
Her name is crystal.
Top tip: Anytime your cruise control mysteriously quits working, check your brake lights. I've experienced this failure in several different makes.
I wonder if he would have unhooked the non functioning trailer lights if the cruise would have started working again?
@@hetzlerracing5490 That's a good idea.

Also, Christine was a coupe. This is a 2-Door sedan.
Yeah, the Savoy was avaliable as both a hardtop and a post I believe.
Trust me, I'd do anything to own a Fury or a Belvedere. If it was a Fury it would be an original spec instead of a Christine clone.
I'm aware of the differences, but for me I'm not so picky that a clone would hurt my feelings. 2 doors vs 4 doors would matter, but that's about it.
Great job on the Plymouth
Hey, nice car , liked to see newer 5 speed and head liner so it would not be hot
