Thank you for the video I am studying 2become a nail tech & I have purchased the IBD CONTROL GEL SYSTEM and its my 1st hard gel system & I was under the impression you had 2 file off all hard gel and other companies say you need 2 file it all off and don't soak it off but you have helped me alot with this video. Finally someone else who loves IBD like I do! Though elite 99 no wipe top coat really rocks. I was a bit disappointed with the IBD.

I love my hard gels, I use ibd and top with a clear non wipe gel coat then put regular polish on the top, my varnish doesn't chip like it did on my bare nails, I also put a bit of my non wipe clear on the underside of my nails and cure, I've found this stops the dirt from sticking underneath your nail tip, hope this helps someone, thanks for the video 💅🏻

I thoroughly enjoy watching your videos and watch them over and over because you provide so much information in each! I do have a question: I often find the hard gel on my index and middle nail on my dominant hand "pop" off (although never completely) after 7-10 days. Do you think I could glue the hard gel back down successfully with more hard gel or even crazy glue to save having to start over on the bare nail? Thanks!
Thank you Janet. Either one will work. If you apply more hard gel or nail glue/super glue it's likely to lift again because it wasn't primed. If you can get the primer under the nail before it'll help from lifting. Which ever way you decide to reset the hard gel make sure your nails are dry before applying primer especially under the lifted areas so you don't get nail infection/fungus. Also, the next time you do full set of gels, apply 2 coats of primer (waiting few seconds between coats). You'll probably get less lifting. Hope this helps. Have a wonderful day! :D

so I had a question.. I've never done gel nails but I recently bought polygel, then i went on aliexpress to look for gel nail polishes and they are much much cheaper to buy than regular nail polish from the stores where I live.. do you think another method could be using peel off base coat over the hard gel and then paint with gel polish so you can just remove the color without damaging the hard gel?
Hi Ira, I don't see why it wouldn't work. Another way you can remove gel nail polish over hard get is to manually file it off which is what I do and it works great.

Why didn't you use a cuticle pusher to scrape the polish off?
Hi, I'm not sure if you're talking about the orange wood stick/cuticle pusher or different cuticle pusher other than the metal one I ended up using in the video. The orange wood stick is a little flimsy when it comes to removing loose gel so I changed to an old old old ;) cuticle pusher that I love and it gives me better control. I have other metal cuticle pushers, but I love my oldie but goodie cuticle pusher. Hope I answered your question. :D

Thanks! I like the IBD bonder, it helps with lifting. I don't think that you need to use it since it looks like your hard gel doesn't lift. It also takes a little longer to fully remove the hard gel after using the bonder.
Thanks Toni! I might try it when I run out of Mia Secret Primer. I like using a primer/bonder prior to hard gel application or gel nail polish application over natural nails.
