Hello. When I first started out in LTC. My goal was to become a DON. I absolutely loved it. When I reached that goal, I new I was meant to do more. I felt that there was missing link with DONs developing into their role. The nurse consultant that is essentially over the DON, is there as a consultant, not for education. There is a major lack of education for DONs and that is when I decided to leave the DON role along with the start of the pandemic which unfortunately just wore me out. I began my company of coaching and educating DONs on how to develop in their roles and I absolutely love it. I enjoy being that support person in their time of need such as covering off shifts so they don't have to, teaching them how to improve outcomes etc. I thought when I became a DON, that I would retire as a DON. Coaching and Consulting is such a need. I've been in LTC for going on 18 years now and can teach each position effectively and I this again will help support the DONs in an effort to allow them to grow into their careers.
@@bilquisali That's beautiful. One of the things I notice as an RN is the staff on the floor aren't receiving the continued education they need. It appears as if nursing has turned into a field for hustling a paycheck instead of what it used to be. Thank you for the insite on your current nursing practices.
Don't you get hot with all those layers of clothes? Nursing homes are the worst. I was a DON in my nursing life time. I know you're working your butt off. My hat is off to you. Wish i could give u a hand❤
Thank you for Your video. It helps me lots. How I can get that workbook(RN supervisor workbook)? Please give me some information.
