- World exclusive 🌍! By accident today I got to try out Finnair’s brand new Business Class. With the press release just a few weeks back no one had seen the physical product in the flesh if you like, until well, today! This is one of the very first commercial flights for crew familiarisation / cargo on the Helsinki to London route operated by AY’s Airbus A330. It’s retrofitted from their older now uncompetitive premium product, and presents one of the more unique J products in the industry. It’s dubbed the sky sofa, and the most controversial part is it doesn’t recline. It does however go fully lay flat which I’ll show you. So did I like it? I really did. It’s a wide seat, one of the widest… similar to SQ’s J product on their A350. There’s ample cubby space which is vital especially on long haul red eyes. There were also thoughtful touches like additional stowage space and wireless phone charging. But was it uncomfortable given it can’t recline? Well as this was only a tiny taster I can’t properly say. For the short time I had in the seat it felt like an armchair, but for a mid or long haul day flights where sleep isn’t the priority and you want to recline out, I’m still unsure. We shall have to wait until May for the first long haul flights to Singapore. What do you think?

Hell yes I’d fly it. I was skeptical at first but I’d love to try out such a spacious seat that gives you so much freedom of movement. I can deal with using pillows as a means of recline

@@crispyandjess uhh JFK in New York to Helsinki I think was like $1000. And the first time I went was back in like 2016 or 2015 and I didn’t pay. My parents took our whole family so I don’t know. I would assume around the same.
The lap belt looks like a good addition until you realize that if the plane goes down, your body just got shoved into the foot space and the belt broke your neck
Airpane seatbelts are to keep your corpse from flying around the cabin, not to keep you alive

@@Certified_Dude are you stupid or something? of course the seatbelts aren't going to help for that. they're to prevent you from falling out of your seat during heavy turbulence, and if a stall does happen and the pilots manage to recover it, I think you'd rather be safely in your seat rather then hitting the roof. im scared for this generations iq.
I’ve flewn Finnair several times and they are very price competitive, good food and drink and perfect for me flying to Stockholm from Melbourne.

In the 1990’s I worked for a company headquartered north of Helsinki. I made over 20 flights from LAX or JFK to Helsinki. Compared to back then, their current business class is an immense improvement over their old First Class. So to answer your question, Hell yes!
Our FINNAIR "Sky Sofa" is very fluffy! Mashiro gets very comfy at this!
I mean if I wasn’t poor and had a reason to go anywhere other than my soul sucking underpaying job, and lived in a world where I could travel internationally even though I got in trouble as an American teenager and America thought the best rehabilitation option is to permenantly label you as a menace to society for something they would legalize and tax later 🙄😔

I just don’t think it’s very savvy. Premium economy is good enough since paying half of a yearly salary for this is very short term

Not true. Finnair's DC-3 crashed on 3 january 1961
Finnair has had a few accidents but the most recent one was 60 years ago.

It is the "Air Lounge". It is not and as far as I can tell, never has been the "Sky Sofa" on Finnair. Vietnam Airlines has a product called the "Sky Sofa", but that is just leaving two empty seats next to you in Economy.
