Black is such a classy color and I had black furniture. But the older I get (60’s) the more I want bright colors. Love the yellow Love Bug color and Birdie blue. Beautiful painting as usual!❤

Girl, I’m with you on Birdie and the aging wax, perfection! I was thinking, as soon as you took the layers off, I love that swoop. The bench- 100% improvement, painting it black brought into the 2020’s. 😊❤ I forgot, l literally was gagging when you were ripping all that nasty layers off that stool.😂 I can’t do that.😅
They all turned out wonderfully but my favorite is the birdie stool. Love that old look!❤

My husband and I have turned stools into two-tiered stands by cutting off the seat. Turning the stool upside down and adding slats across the braces making shelves.

That bench looks exactly like the one that was in my MIL’s front hall. We donated it last year, so maybe it’s the same. She had cats and dogs, so it could be animal scratching.

How do you know if a piece needs more coats of shellac...like the bench?
@@cherylwilson8571I usually always do two coats. But if your having a bled through problem you can add more cos even after you’ve put you colored paint on

I am always amazed at the difference between the first coats of milk paint and the second or third. Those colors just deepen and become more and more beautiful. Love your work!
That crack in the blue stool might pinch if anyone tries to sit on it.

I don’t know how your finger doesn’t give out. My husband made me a handle with his 3D printer thank goodness it helps a lot with spray paint❤
I have a handle for spraying. But I find it awkward. It really doesn’t bother my hand. I guess I’m lucky

Yvonne, that black bench went from 90s meh to gorgeous. It looks great. Like a beautifully restored antique. The two stools are cute but the bench is my favorite.

Yvonne I just have to say that I love you. Seriously you are the bomb. When you're doing your projects at each stage you're explaining what you're doing and why I love that. What you do with the waxes is amazing and all your little ooze and Oz are wonderful because it just emphasizes the change coming out in what you're doing . I also love that you show us scuff sanding cuz I was always thinking I had to go down to bare wood and now my projects go so much faster thank you so much Yvonne and I hope you are healing well❤❤❤❤

I will NEVER stop being amazed at your rattle can prowess!!!!!!! I am guessing that my shiny spots are due to not having even texture? Probably because I use 1 coat of shellac not 2…..????? The pieces are ALL beautiful in their own right, however birdie is adorable
Yes.. one coat doesn’t necessarily get everything covered

Where I have my booths in central Mo. the stools would have been perfect at the shellac stage. I just did a couple stools today, I have to paint outside in the open and this crazy humidity and heat were causing me some problems with the paint of course but I did get it done. Love all your work. Please continue to take care of yourself, it’s hard to do when you’re self employed.

Oh… slow and continuous movement… don’t hold it one spot too long or try to cover in one coat. Maybe that helped some 🤗

I love the stools--the blue one with the rustic details would catch my eye in the booth but my favorite is the one you use for staging, LOL!!! Right now, I'm all about the older, rustic pieces. The bench turned out lovely, too.
