Great video. People can literally follow your footsteps, pausing where needs be, and get right where they want to go. I lived in Japan for 14 years, 12 in Nara and 2 in Osaka. I worked for an English school in Morinomiya for a few years, directly across the street from the park and I could see the roof of the castle keep from my classroom. I used to spend most of my breaks and lunches in Osaka-jo koen. I usually took the loop line to Morinomiya station which put me right across the street from the park. Further West from Morinomiya station, about a city block South of the Sout-West entrance to the castle, are the ruins of Fujiwara-kyo. There's not much left, but it was the site of an ancient palace. Most of the castle you see today is actually a second castle built on top of Toyatomi Hideyoshi's original castle by Tokugawa Hidetada. If you want a better idea of what Hideyoshi's original castle looked like, the ruins of his brother Toyatomi Hidenaga's castle are in Koriyama (Koriyama-jo). Take the Kintetsu-Nara line to Yamato-Saidaiji and change trains, heading toward Kashihara-jingu-mae. It's only about 5 min from there and the train goes right by the reconstructed part of the castle. Kintetsu-Koriyama station is next to the castle. The train goes right by a very large kofun (tomb) in Amagatsuji that's about 1,600 years old. Keep up the great work.
Thank you for the walking tour to Osaka Castle from the train station. This really helps me understand how much walking needs to be done to get to Osaka Castle. Hope you can do more walking tours :) You speak really good English.
The editing and filming of this video is beautifully done! ^^ The weather looks like it is so nice over there. I wonder what your favorite places to eat are around the area after walking around so much haha I'd love to see you do a walkthrough to the Osaka Aquarium next from Namba station!
Your videos detailing the routes to take based in Namba are extremely helpful for me and my family, especially for wheelchair access. We will be staying in Namba and I will study the videos (day trip Nara etc) in detail as my trip comes nearer in September. I am also planning a day trip to Kobe using the Hanshin rail which I think is wheelchair accessible. Yoroshiku onegai shimasu!
My family will be in Osaka from 12 January 24 until the 16. I have so many things to ask, will be in contact with you if I have any questions. Thanks in advance ☺️
Hi Shiba shiba. I really appreciate your videos which are informative. When you transferred to the Chou line within the Hommachi station, i noticed you did not get out of the station gates? Is that common in japanese metro systems especially if a station has more than 1 line that goes through it. Again, thank you for the helpful videos! Subarashii!
Thank you for your comment. Yes. The Osaka Metro Midosuji line and chuo line belong to the same train company, so we can transfer without getting out of the ticket gate. If you have any other questions, feel free to comment again.
@@Shiba-Shiba_TrainsInJapan Hello Shiba-san, just a follow-up question to what the above commenter mentioned about "not getting out of the station", does it also mean that you don't have to purchase a new ticket for that new route? I hope you'll notice this. TIA!.

There are many places to visit, especially in Kobe, so if you have time in your schedule, it would be better to visit Himeji and Kobe on separate days.
The JR Pass can be used to go from Morinomiya Station, the nearest station to Osaka Castle, to Osaka Station on the JR Osaka Loop Line. Please note that the JR Pass cannot be used on the Osaka Metro.
Holders of the JR WEST RAIL PASS receive a ¥100 discount on the entrance fee to Osaka Castle, which is ¥500. If you have any further questions, do feel free to comment again.😊✨
Hi Shiba Shiba, is Tanimachi 4 Chrome the nearest station to castle? Do you alternative stations to recommend😅 alighting? Which area or park has best view of castle? Thanks.
Hi. If you are travelling to Osaka Castle from the JR Loop Line, Osaka Station or Tennoji Station, the best place to go is Osaka-jo Koen Station on the JR Osaka Loop Line. Osaka-jo Koen Station is also convenient if you want to take the Shinkansen into Osaka and go directly to Osaka Castle.
