It’s sad but the company is going down fast as Andrew Richie slips away from the limelight. A front suspension would have been fantastic and even the 11 speed alfine a better choice. Am seriously considering a birdy for the next purchase. Such a shame really as the brompton fold is the superior fold. Birdy with 18 inch and a sealed gear system like the rohloff hub would be wonderful. If only birdy made an electric version- this would be a game changer
This would be funnier if sadly it wasn’t true , why bother looking what others are doing in the bike industry with electronic shifters and belt drives when we can create a bigger Brompton that it can still fold but weighs too much , the person who thought about back engineering the Alfine hub so it could fit in the original design frame and could create a belt drive with bigger tyres also part of the range has been actually locked in a bunker for blasphemy = we have no room for common sense ideas in this company.
