I prefer Paul Pena's original version (Pena wrote this, not Steve Miller) but Miller's stunning guitar work and his obvious pleasure in playing this are stand-outs!
This video was shot two monthes before I was born. This is one of my all time favorite bands, in fact I just won tickets and backstage passes to see them here at the house of blues in Myrtle Beach.

This band cracks me up. You got spastic sax player, soul brother shimmying on the drum riser and Oompah Loompah on guitar....

Awesome stuff! His guitar has to be tuned a full tone up to be playing A in the open position but in the key of C.
