Japanese women are absolutely at the pinnacle of rock music right now, it's a revolution going on over there. Check out Band-Maid if you haven't already, they're like an all-female Muse meets Dragonforce, sooooo good. From what I understand, lots of women there were closet metalheads and scream out heavy music in private because of their shitty, sexist salaryman/woman culture, and after Babymetal became a thing lots of them came out and decided to show the men that they could do it too, and maybe even better. It's super awesome to see and interesting as a western dude that likes heavy music. Seeing 5 chicks in maid costumes that absolutely shred and write banger after banger is the most fun development in music I could ever imagine.
Hey Steve thanks for the comment. I have found band maid - done many videos here on them (hope you check them out) That is a great way to describe them, muse vibes for sure. Be well.
@@DRUMNERD Ah, glad to hear it - this is the first video of yours I've seen, so I didn't know you were already hip to them. Thanks for making this content, it's awesome.
I suspect it's just that the west is taking notice on what is going on in Japan because of the new wave of interesting which Babymetal started. My guess is these Japanese bands were already doing their thing for a long time...
@@autohmae Yeah, I started to understand it after finding out about Band-Maid. Apparently younger Japanese women have been closet metalheads for a long time, as it's a good outlet for the sexism and boringness in the salaryman culture they have. So they've been becoming shredders and doing metal karaoke behind closed doors for a long time. But Babymetal succeeding caused a lot of them to realize there's no reason they can't just show up the boys' club that metal music has always been, and talent just started coming out from everywhere. I'd argue that the Japanese ladies have more interesting stuff going on in their metal/heavy music scene than the West + Europe combined right now, and I love to see it. It's impossible really know since I can't read Japanese, but that's a timeline that really makes sense in my head.
@@actuallynotsteve nah, the Japanese female metal scene had existed for quite a while . It goes back to at least the early 1980s, which precedes Babymetal by quite a few decades 😁 Here's Show-Ya on stage in 1989: ruclips.net/video/Mgn5aYMYN44/видео.html

DRUM NERDS, SO SORRY BUT I'VE ONLY REALISED NOW; I'VE ALREADY REACTED TO THIS SONG 🤦♂(I needed that to be yelled apparently) Anyways, it was 2 years ago so hopefully there's a fresh perspective at least. SUBSCRIBE AND ENJOY!
Dave, firstly use the space bar “last 45”. Secondly, I’m keen to know what tour has lasted for four and a half decades. And lastly, I can’t help but feel you just come across as a bit of a bell end. Do better. Be well.

Chris, please use proper grammar and use a full stop as the sentence was finished. Also, if talking isn't your bag, might I suggest the original video? Thanks.
When Junna plays it's like she's having a conversation with every part or her kit. She's just amazing!
I just like the fact that she seems to be having so much fun.

Thank you so very much for the sub, the kind words and support. It truly does mean a lot to me. Happy Sunday. Be well.

Much Gooder song lol
To much talking stop interrupting Junna with nonsense
Great feedback - it's almost like you don't like watching breakdowns - so maybe you could just watch the original as I provided the link. Cheers melt.
She made a few mistakes, but, still a very good performance.
Ok, but 99% of mere mortals, can't do 2% of what she does.
can you not keep quiet
Can you not put punctuation at the end of a sentence? Thanks Sandy, I'll hand over all running's of my channel to you.
Go watch the original video if you want no-reaction content. 😅
Way Too Much Talk And Pause For Me! I Had To Stop Watching! Hold It For Afterwards!
You do you and I’ll do me. Be well.
Why are you 4X louder than the song? Ick
I’m not sure, I’ll look at how it’s balanced - corrected it recently but clearly not well enough. Be well.
@@DRUMNERD truly would like the react if the song was matching your commentary.
P what's the matter are you jealous
Not in the slightest. What's the matter, are you lacking the ability to understand critical analysis on an instrument you can't even play?
Dude you talk to much
you talk too much, bye
I don't remember inviting you, bye.
you talk far to much
