Does it matter how much feather you have left on the side you cut? Just wondering since your atlatl build had a significant amount more. Thanks. Love the vids.
hardwoods are often the best, but simply look for whatever is relatively stiff and grows somewhat straight. you can always heat straighten, but another trick is to splice shorter sticks together to make a longer shaft if need be. use a bone collar, or something else to make an easy splice.
the glue in the Video is titebond 3. The reason I use it is it's waterproof and customer friendly. Historically sinew would be glue down with either hide glue or raw pine sap. really any glue will get it done.
Great video. Thanks for sharing.
So useful!
Good stuff.
I use three Feathers the same as Gary Fogelman. I made a Fletcher to do Darts, works great and cost about 5 Bucks.
Man! I wish I had access to River Canes, all New Mexico has is Phragmites, they make good darts, just that Cane is stronger.

I like to make bow sling Spears atlatl thanks for the tip I can use it for my arrow and darts thanks for the tip
What would be good woods to make darts from? I sadly don't live where there's river cane or anything of the sort. Would willow work?

Have you used the 2 fletch style on arrows? I have heard different accounts of how well it works.
I have use them quite a bit on arrows. I prefer 3 fletch, but good sets with 2 fletch are doable.
I sud you
whats that music guys?
Are those Osceola wing feathers?
I use a lot of Osceola feathers being from Florida, but these are eastern. The Osceolas are much darker overall
silly question for those who know...."What kind of glue are you using?" please.

I Am sure it seems like cheating, but Carbon Express is coming up with a Carbon Atlatl dart.
