It was the first time I took a real interest in the Olympics and all it started with London 2012, I remember the design of the flags in the boxes of the names of the athletes, were great, and innovative, it's hard to believe that 6 years have past since then
Love the way the diving platforms at the aquatics centre were designed. Instead of being a straight support with a straight platform like traditional diving boards, the London 2012 ones were curved into a streamlined shape which looked beautiful
The 2012 Summer Olympics were one of the best in my opinion. I didn't get to see it, but I watched a lot of it on TV and loved playing Mario and Sonic.
London 2012 was my entry-time to the Olympics, the Games who made me interest in all the theme, from the mascots (Wenlock was the first mascot I loved) to the ceremonies.
This whole time I thought the logo was supposed to represent a city street map, and I thought that was so clever. Now it turns out that was never the case.
1:53 I have one of those London 2012 cookie tins, but I got it from a thrift store so it was empty when I bought it. Oh well, I care more about Olympic memorabilia than cookies!
London 2012 will always be a memory that is ingraved in my head & my heart I love the vibrant colors & Dynamic shapes symbolizing the year & the Mascots Wenlock & Mandeville are the perfect icing & candles on the Cake My Mom, Sister & I were actually in London during the Olympics & that's where I met my friend & pen pal Emily I still(sorta)remember the Opening Ceremony After the ceremony we were in the gift shop & for souvenirs I got Wenlock, Emily got Mandeville, my sister got some Magnets & Stationary & my mom got a mug with Wenlock performing Weightlifting In conclusion London 2012 will always be loved in my heart I can kinda understand why you may be ehhhhh I get maybe your a Rio 2016 fan, a Vancouver 2010 fan, a Barcelona 1994 fan, a Nagano 1998 fan, etc Whatever floats your boat Cheers I'll tost to that all day long
I'm still thinking that controversial logo/emblem and diferents pictograms are awful and they were not the best option in my opinión!! However, I think the color palette it was successful and looks great.
While Vancouver had the energy and feel to the Olympics, London brought a lively design that I still believe to be one of the best depictions of the Olympics.
I have a theory that the "zion" thing (plus the emphasis on "2012"- supposed year of the Mayan prophecy- rather than "London") was a deliberate arrangement with security services so that they could follow online discussions about it from 2007 onward, and spot people who might be taking advantage of the controversy to recruit for some evil activity during the Games
The logo looks trashy,it dous not resemble sport or tournament or whatsoever. It should appeal to a broad audiance without context, and it clearly fails to do so as is explained by the designers in this video that it is misunderstood. The chaotic lines do give a template for more specific sports logo`s but that is just what random chaos dous, when you find logic in chaos and it makes sense dous not advocate correctness and rational logic as is proclaimed in this video.

Yeah, it’s sporty, it’s memorable, nostalgic and the venue & pictogram banners feel inspiring

This was my first Olympics of which I experienced and felt its national impact. I already feel nostalgic!

Mario and Sonic got me into the Olympics and thus into graphic design :D
how so
Beijing 2008 was the best. No offense
@@n1kunj in terms of legacy - London.
London 2012 was my entry-time to the Olympics, the Games who made me interest in all the theme, from the mascots (Wenlock was the first mascot I loved) to the ceremonies.

I still have a plushie of Wenlock & my pin pal Emily has Mandeville
She from London
Wow. London 2012 really rocked!
I really missed London 2012 and it was so amazing.
When the logo was first revealed, I hated it, but I really think it worked out well!
The font and the color pallette was very iconic, no other games did it better than london to this day
Not even Munich?

I think tokyo 1964 was the best logo.
The rich colors of 2012 and 2016 is chef's kiss.
This whole time I thought the logo was supposed to represent a city street map, and I thought that was so clever. Now it turns out that was never the case.

Cheers I'll tost to that all day long
12 years later and it looks incredibly dated already
I loved that logo and that whole identity from minute 1. And I still love it to this day. 2nd best ever (after Mexico 68)
I love the logo. It's memorable after all the years!
The eternal London Olympics logo lmao
I only now saw, that the logo represents the number 2012.
The logo was the only big let down from an otherwise incredible games.
Zion , what's wrong with that?
...waiting for Barcelona '92!
I'm still thinking that controversial logo/emblem and diferents pictograms are awful and they were not the best option in my opinión!!

"lebron doing the basketball" lmao
The logo was awful, but the colour and general aesthetics of the Games were the best.
美しいです😆選手のテンションあがりますよね♥️
Plz do the Rio Olympics design focas
The Hairited Focas meu cú!
This should be popular
Pro designers yell at it, and I'm just a regular person. I love it.
Best Olympic ever
Do one with Rio 2016 next
I really love the design of 2012
please do tokyo 1964

Good one
No video for rio2016?
While Vancouver had the energy and feel to the Olympics, London brought a lively design that I still believe to be one of the best depictions of the Olympics.
1:53 I have one of those :D

輪っわかりました❤️

Is that Jose Mourinho at 2:12?
Yep
Quem? É Brasileiro? Se não for nem quero saber quem é!
I have the font in my computer lol
how?
Worst logo ever, and the use of “Pepto Bismol” pink in some venues was hideous
Ah, yes, the most criticized logo of the modern Olympic games still getting criticized today.

1:19 zion
The logo known for its "Zion" conspiracy.
I have a theory that the "zion" thing (plus the emphasis on "2012"- supposed year of the Mayan prophecy- rather than "London") was a deliberate arrangement with security services so that they could follow online discussions about it from 2007 onward, and spot people who might be taking advantage of the controversy to recruit for some evil activity during the Games
the 30th olympiad was filled to the brim with conspiracies
The London logo, font and mascots are still the absolute worst.
Worst logo ever
London was middle boring and middle cool
Tankiw
The ugliest logo ever, sorry...
This was the shitest logo ever lets not kid ourselves. Everyone rampaged here when it first came out it was that terrible.
It was designed to be talked about (and probably to be interpreted ambiguously)

The worst logo I have seen for the Olympics ! looked like an amateur art school project.

Once you assume that it is deliberately designed to be misread as "ZiON" it starts to make much more sense
The worst Olympic logo ever
