- Every Thursday we're traveling through a DUST wormhole to bring back some our channel's classics.
Stuck right in the middle of chaos with no explanation. But no explanation is needed. Liam Murphy's No-A communicates everything we need to know about its main characters through wordless action. The end result is an empathetic and poignant short fueled by a robot’s love for its creator and its willingness to pay the ultimate sacrifice to save this girl from harm.
'No-A' by Liam Murphy

The only thing bad about these films is that you always wish they were longer.
.....and that some new movies should end faster
I think this was the right length.
And consistent captions for us deaf folks.
Watch it slower. Sorry I couldn't resist I've been in a grand jury trial all day long and I'm a little punchy.
@@roxannewolfe4433 I'm not deaf or hearing impaired but good point because I have noticed they are inconsistent.
I remember the original from years back..., and this newer version still hits as the original where & as it should. Well done kids!
Awesomeness 😎
Brought to mind *King Kong* w/ a futuristic *mechanical* twist. Great story w/ 0 dialogue + so much emotion. KUDOS to the creators.
The protagonist robot looked really fearsome, and I thought initially he was a villain. Nice twist to see his commitment to his mission of protecting the woman, and his subsequent self-sacrifice. Well done.
That's exactly would "they" want you to think, in fact that girl is Patient Zero of Covid-67 the cause of Zombie-Flu and has now been let loose on the population of an innocent planet. Evil Robot ! 🤖🤖🤖
The robot looks like a gorilla. It is a common theme, a beast plus a beauty versus men (see "Savage" game series for instance)
We don't know the backstory. Maybe the woman was a carrier of a deadly virus and the men were trying to isolate her to protect humanity against extinction. The gorilla robot just ended us all. The robots designed the virus.
Maybe the soldiers were rescuing her and the other (ship?) passengers/civilians, there seem to be quite a few other cryopods lying around.
I never tire looking at this video, I just wish they'd create a part 2 to this! Awesome video!!
I really liked it! Thanks!
I choose to believe Gorrilabot survived long enough for her to download him into a new vessel the Silverback 2.0
I've been watching these films for years and can only recall 3 that I thought I actually understood !!
Just... Wow!
At the end when his leg breaks and he just leapfrogs ontop of them
💀💀💀🐸 💀💀💀
I felt that 💔🤬
Special thanks again Liam Murphy, for this remarkable film.
Wow superb.
That was alot of emotion for under 5 minutes. Well done
Always a meaningful
I had a friend like the robot... in high school. Nobody messed with me! Maranatha
Breathtaking, so much said in so little time. 👍👍
Every single video on this channel needs millions of views. Like how
So good I had to watch it several times.
This one makes me cry, in a good way.
Always good. No matter how many times we see it.
That was heart breaking!!
So sad and awesome story...
WOW 😳,how??? Did y'all convey All this emotion and Drama WITHOUT, any dialogue. EXCELLENT VIDEO! BRAVO! THE cue da gra , or icing on the cake, was the slow mo head shot on the main character. PURE CINEMATIC GENIUS!
coup de grâce. It's French. Please don't embarrass yourself with clueless misspelling.
@@orcaflotta7867 hi, Orca Flotta, Umm 🤔 Im pretty sure your statement is CLUELESS! 😆 Lol. 1st spell check didn't correct me! Why should you? 2nd I know it's a foreign language, THAT'S WHY I FOLLOWED UP THAT STATEMENT WITH " the icing on the 🍰 cake" 3rd although I misspelled a foreign language, I used the phrase CORRECTLY! SO OBVIOUSLY IM NOT CLUELESS! Now instead of being the spelling cops of a foreign language, Let's just give " a tip of the hat" on an excellent dramatic and emotional video!!!! Priorities! Have a peaceful and kind day Orca Flotta!
If you haven't seen primal, you should check it out.
You are literally word vomit.
@@johnnymurray6275 You are a terrible person, aren't you?
How dare you calling French a foreign language? It isn't even half as exotic as English. Ever thought about that more people in the world are natural born French speakers than English? And what do I have to do with your badly inconsistent spellchecker? What are you, 5 or 6 y/o? Needing a spellchecker in a mostly adult oriented YT channel? And anyway, isn't spellchecker exclusively used on smarty phones? You use one of those badly inappropriate apparatuses?
Discussion over!
such a short yet such a wholesome and great video.
Great movie, great twist. Thank you.
Powerful story!
A gem
Great production. Thank you.
If this was a series I would totally binge watch it
It took about 5 seconds to see it was Hunchback of Notre Dame. Nicely done.
Or King Kong
@@everythingexplored5233 Yes, I thought the movements were very much 'gorilla-like'. It was a great short film.
This was excellent great work.
This could be a dandy serialized story. I'd love to see more.👾
Isaac Asimov would have made an exception to his rules for this story. 👍
Good one.
I don't think it's a robot...
Dust is the very best!!!
Always loved it .. whatever time I spend here is feels 100% extra life in my life span
Twas in fact beauty that killed the beast
Great Work!
Special effects and animation...Good job....
That actually brought tears to my eyes at the end, I feel dumb
Great movie, thank you
Thanks for great job! Please more like this sci-fi on Dust.
awesome!
Yes. I agree to wish this story was longer or introducing a series. Yet the protagonist was utterly inhuman - a congnizant mechanoid - and perfectly inhuman again - a bull ape, gorilla comes to mind. They and chipanzees, bonobos are our closet cousin great apes.
All the emotions we feel, they do and equally as strongly... I see the story as if an trusted elder man, a warrior was given of parents to protect a young woman, a teen daughter and nothing would stop him from doing so.
But he wasn't a man at all. He had the mind of an educated and trained Silverback gorilla built on a robotic scale that would deeply disturb quite a few transformers.
I have watched the short tale a few times now and am about to watch it again and grin at the final charge.
Well done, people.
Peace out; live long and prosper - later.

Great Hero....For a 'Bot'
I like the modern attire the girl wore...Sneekers...
Another "Wish it could be a movie" flick
The shortest "Short." If this was a full-length feature, this scene would probably be during Act III.
Très joli ! Bravo
Good one. Thumbs up..
i rarely say this (even about the good ones.. even about the ones that are better than this one) but this needs a prequel or sequel. i think I'd prefer prequel on this one
10!!!
Pretty good graphics, def needs a full movie.
It remembers me of "King Kong". Great short! Love it!
Was an amazing short, cinematically perfect, but I’m kind of glad it’s not any longer, too real, too sad 😢
I hope the human soldiers ended up rescuing her.
This was really well put together.
When he closed the elevator to save her it really hit me in the feels.
it's short....hell...I'll take it...better then nothing...BLESS
Superb remake of 'King Kong' without the need for foundational explanatory; great job people.
Cheers from the Oil Patch in Central WY
or "The Hunchback of Notre Dame"
@@zethraelofteldrassil3149
Had the protagonist robot NOT had those massive Forearms, I would agree with you...but the ape like movements he had, in combination with those forearms, seemed to indicate K.K........but your suggestion would have been my 2nd choice....either way, superb Short and I wish they'd take the time to come up with Part 2....
❤
thats the Sacrifice , and Fighting Spirit, People with Good Heart is the same...like this machine...
Why could one bullet suddenly do more damage than all the others? I think it would have made more sense if it was fired by a different rifle all together.... Perhaps a sniper somewhere he hadn't seen..using a high powered rifle... Anyway, it was beautifully done! Very talented!
it was a sniper bullet to the head, you saw the robot in earlier clips covering its head with its' arms. The head was clearly the weakspot - or one of them.
@@pnaltd.9136 : )
Three things that bug me in this video, which unfortunately is a common trope in sci-fi videos: 1) the 'head' of a robot doesn't have to have the 'brain' -- why not in the center of the torso? 2) to make it feel 'week', it has human-like movements after the 'event', and 3) why do all the guns do no damage to him except the one shot? Contrived events and actions to elicit human emotion. Kind of like the uncanny valley. close, but the inconsistencies make problems like these stand out even more.
No A P. That steel back was no ape... Well done.
Right On
I JUST watched this one yesterday.
Was going thru the videos section and picked a few to watch, including this one, and here it is on throwback Thursday.
Not much of a throwback for me lol.
great video, shame dust shrunk the credits as normal so we missed the pictures that were also part of the story.
those darn robots
A futuristic King Kong! Brilliant
Świetna animacja.
Serious King Kong vibes and I'm here for it. Great animation too!
I am a new viewer and love it, Well Done
Very nice 👍..
Its awesome for waiting for the end which we never see it..thanks
Starting your story in the middle. Loved it! What's next? What's before?
Oui la suite svp...🤪
No-A...
Who remembers van Vogt?
Dang, Zoey left him for dead.
THESE MOVIES ARE TO SHORT MAN,STILL THINK THEY ROCK.
The good robot reminded me of King Kong. Nice work
This Gosh Darn cartoon was made of onions!
I'm always expected a good ending.
Why am I reminded of King Kong and Faye Wray? This was so good.
A robot that is more human than a soldier...no-a
Сильно и душевно!👍👍👍💯💯💯
One of my lifegoals is to work on a project such as this one. 😅
Im working on it but it might take 2 or more years so that im even ready for it
A robot which passes out when it gets a hit in the head
I've seen that before with DUST...?
Vary kool... Needs a FULL length movie. ALL the back story an up too current . I LOVE THIS SH.......
Damn that rowbutt sho was DuuuuuuuSTAY!!
King Kong , in Four Minutes Twenty Four Seconds .
10/10!! Where's the sequel?
I noticed that when NO-A moves the lever at the elevator it has the sound of a Minecraft piston
I was wondering why the robot looked like a gorilla, and then it was obvious. I'm surprised nobody has done this before. Sci-Fi Harame next? Keep up the good work!
Sci-Fi? More relationship balls. King Kong, right? It's been done before.
It's great.
Robot version of King Kong
So THATS what happened to the Hulkbuster after Age of Ultron.
A brilliantly executed film. I could rave on about it but I would run out of superlatives before I ran of things to say.
The only complaint that I have about this clip is that it looks like a single scene from a longer film. As such it's as unsatisfying as watching a trailer for a major blockbuster with no chance of getting to actually SEE that blockbuster.
🟦....(@2:57):
I guess he must'a re-routed sum circuits huh?.....
since i subscribed i look forward to every day just to have a peaceful hour of Dust , im a sci fi fan because everything is scientifically possible , ftl came from the old warp on star trek , worm holes exist now able to stabilize . i love the short to the point subtracting the un needed drama .
Once again, good animation and NO STORY!
nice
Really really that's it
