Very thorough video... but what would you like to have seen to make it "super great" like the competitors? CLT-ORD is 1.5 hours... what more were you expecting? Especially in main cabin...
Cool video man. Great idea taking the iPad to make it your own portable IFE. Also good comedy on the "full service meal" on US carriers. The sugar-free drink with the sugary biscuits.
You were in Charlotte the same day that the Sullenberger Aviation Museum was reopening after being closed a few years earlier for rebuilt! I really want to go there! You should have gone if you had more time.
I've started to get airline snacks from the supermarket when available. So far Biscoff by AA I've seen, and also the cookies with the chocolate on top WestJet does. Porter has a few snack choices so I've seen a few of theirs in store.
CLT is my favorite layover destination. Maybe it's the constant chaos, but I'm never bored even with the 3 & 1/2 hour layover in April. The ONLY thing I don't like is there's NO priority for the security line. This is the only AP I've ever experienced where everyone is shoved down the same line. As for the in-flight meal, you of all people know unless it'll over 900 miles, there is no meal, and beyond that, you're in economy!! Never any meal in economy unless it's an international flight. And no, it has NOTHING to do with being in America.
Love your vids man. I used to be based out of charlotte and the cosmetic upgrades to B/C just didn’t do it. Some of the most unpleasant concourses to be in the US. D/E are moderately better and of course A extension is the best but almost everyone flies AA
@@flaps1019 back at you dude, been loving the content lately! It’s unfortunate that CLT on the inside isn’t very fun, pretty cool hub operation overall but the passenger experience leaves a lot to be desired
A friend of mine is an AA pilot. He agrees that CLT has no ebb and flow as hub banks come and go. It is a constant flow of people, like DFW. ORD, MIA, and PHX still has busy times and quiet times with banks departing and arriving.
I was flying from Peoria to Montego Bay earlier this year. I connected through charlotte and I had a tight connection. I had to basically run from terminal a to e. It wasn’t super busy, but it was just a very far way to go in just a small period of time.
CLT is great. Until you gotta run from A to lower C. Luckily I live in CLT so there’s no issue but I can’t say that I didn’t do that run just for fun to kill time.
We just left for Florida today we took a plane out of Milwaukee landed in charlotte and our plane was late and we had a connection flight we had to go to we ran there but they closed it and it’s just been a nightmare ever since
The best part of CLT is concourse A expansion and the are just across from checkpoint E Also, you said the new overlook is much improved however that is entirely false sadly
Crucial detail you missed, CLT is American's 2nd *busiest* hub, not 2nd biggest, that's something to keep in mind when you consider how much larger Miami and Chicago are than Charlotte. I work in Charlotte and commute through the airport regularly, the airport's problem is that it's stuck in the 90s infrastructure wise and is trying too hard to compete with Atlanta in terms of passenger volume while investing the bare ass minimum in terms of terminal expansion. Part of it is American's fault too, you have an operation that is trying to cram 5-7 190 seat A321s into a gate area that can barely accommodate 200 people, which makes CLT one of the most egregiously overcrowded airports in the US. Not to mention that American scheduling has Charlotte operate in waves, everything comes and goes all around the same time, creating massive congestion on the ramp as well as in the terminal. Overall, I would describe Charlotte Douglas International Airport as a relatively small International Airport that is being stretched too thin and being forced to take on passenger volumes it is woefully unequipped to manage. Show any fire Marshall that terminal on a random Tuesday and they'd have the place shut down.
It’s not a small airport, it’s just small in comparison to how much volume the airport does. Its equivalent to a boxer fighting in a higher weight class
wake up babe asaviation dropped
LOL I just happened to open RUclips 30 seconds after you uploaded this. Can’t wait to watch!

Im glad David could get the photos for you. 36C was just too far for me 😂

CLT is one of the top 10 busiest airports in the world. Get over yourself!!

Thanks for the heads up on CLT.
Love your trip reports!!! Thanks for all of the information and details!!!
Even though an inflight meal would be nice, you CANNOT beat the AAL Biscoff cookies
They definitely don’t get old.

I used to work in CLT and it was a disaster show. So happy im at a different more organized and clean place.

Yes , I was at CLT yesterday, and it was an over crowded and chaotic terminal . I will try to avoid that airport in the future. Once is enough for me.
That's what happens when AA controls 90/93% of traffic in/out of CLT
Safe travels have a good flight

4:15 And it’s even more interesting when the crew lip sync to these announcements 😂😂
Was it a good flight?
You forgot to mention your aircraft got made in 2013.
I have a transit flight via CLT. Am i cooked?
@@denziiey if it’s at least an hour ur good
@@ASAviation about that. I hope it's not a convoluted airport layout
I love CLT, but to me they have the rudest TSA agents out of all the airports ive flew out of.
4:44 you say “I still quite like CLT” but the title says you’ll avoid it? What gives?
Despite it being a mess (hence why I would opt to avoid it) I still appreciate how much the airport has grown as a hub which is what I meant there
And the plane was also from 2013
Fly to lhr

Yea been through CLT to many times to remember. Airport is way to crowded, no where sit, horribly outdated airport
Charlotte sucks. There's way to few sit down restaurants/bars.
Hey Buddy you need to seriously redo your videos. All typed words overlap and it looks like Sheet.
My home airport 😂🥲
You should do a transatlantic hop on UA
