absolutely crazy lol - they made the skrulls immigrant-analogues, but then portrayed them as extremely harmful and destructive to their home “planet” (country). like, the writers showed the skrulls contributing to the safety of Earth, but while they did that, the skrulls were also taking advantage of the trust they were given and positioning themselves to take over the planet. what are the viewers supposed to take away from this? I came out feeling like the skrulls were the bad guys, completely unjustified in their response, and taking advantage of humanity’s generosity - I felt that the President’s response of “get the fuck out” was completely warranted. that’s probably the OPPOSITE of what the social justice writers wanted the takeaway to be, but they didn’t possess the talent to pull off what they wanted to.

@@adhirg What almost always happens with woke writing: You end up rooting for what is suppose to the the "bad guys" either because they are completely right, or because the "good guys" are utterly insufferable and you just want pain to be inflicted on them.
A perfect example was the Batwoman episode with the Executioner. If you actually watch that episode objectively, the bad guy is one of the most successful characters in the show with how much he accomplishes all on his own, and he beats Batwoman both in an argument (she fails to argue back and Luke also says he made a good point), and he beats her in a fight too (she has to be saved by Dougray Scott coming in and shooting the guy in the back).
And even then he still got them in a trap (which would have taken an insane amount of effort to set up) that would 100% have killed them if the writers understood how fucking HYDROGEN CYANIDE GAS actually worked, aka IT KILLS YOU.

Also, this was supposed to be a Nick Fury series... not an Emilia Clarke series, not a Jake Fury series, but a Nick Fury series. Had Secret Invasion been an original work, then his words might have merit. But the MCU is a product with a very large number of customers. And because the product isn't of your own creation, then yes, as a director of a Marvel show, it's your job to meet the expectations of the audience/fans. This just reeks of narcissism.

Since Endgame, the MCU has introduced the Dark Hold, which could have defeated Thanos, The Book of Ashanti, which could have defeated Thanos, the wish granted by Eternity, which could have defeated Thanos, and now the ability to give at least one species the powers or any or all heroes and villains SHIELD has ever come into contact with, which could probably have defeated Thanos. I'm starting to think MCU prime Strange wants Pepper Potts and needed Tony out of the way.

This is the same crap the writer or director of WandaVision came out with. "It's your fault for setting your expectations too high and expecting Magneto or Mephisto." Um, no, we based our expectations on how the story was progressing and the teases that the cast themselves were hinting at. Is it our fault for expecting Magneto when he is Wanda's father in an alternate universe, one which seems to be shown by having Pietro there when he shouldn't be? Is it our fault for expecting a big character when the actors themselves tell us one is coming, only to reveal later that it was just a joke? We didn't expect Secret Wars levels of awesomeness, just the awesomeness that the story was hinting at.

We're an investor-oriented IP business run by lawyers and accountants, and we're not driven by success with audiences or artistic merit. So long as we can con investors into spending huge wads of cash on crap, we're golden. This is why we care about ESG so much, BTW, as it brings investor dollars. We know it reduces the interest of our audience and it reduces the quality of the art, but that's not how our business is oriented. We're here to take the money of investors, and that's it."

I've said this before. The Disney plan.
    1) Write a poor movie. But make 100% sure its diverse by gender and race swapping.
    2) Make sure the women are OP. Perfect from the beginning.
    3) Make sure the men are evil or idiots or both. Judgment call here.
    4) Bait and switch. Remember to keep smiling and put some energy into it as you lie otherwise they won't believe you.
    5) Start the racist talk. Remember that only pushes away the fans we don't want.
    6) Add tons of bad CG. Nothing makes it a tent pole movie like having it 90% CG.
    7) Let your star or director say something stupid in the media. Remember they have their finger on the pulse of the fans.
    8) Let the media push that stupid statement to the moon. Get the word out to those fans we don't want.
    9) Pat yourself on the back for doing such a great job. Maybe ask for a raise.
    10) Release the movie. Again smile people because this will bring in billions.
    11) Instantly go into hiding and remain radio silent when it bombs. Know someone is in trouble but its not you.
    12) Make up stupid excuse as to why it bombed. Blame the racist fans. They're just scared of (pick at least one. women. trans. gay. race) Remember to add a head shake.
    13) Begin hype for the next project.
    14) Fail upwards into a new office with that raise. You worked so hard for it.
    15) Rinse and repeat.
