Scout Leathercraft Project Idea

I have a troop of girl scouts (1st and 2nd grade so, technically, some subset of scouts) who need a project. They're just little and lack manual dexterity for having such manipulative little racoon fingers so I'm not giving them access to a razor knife and a blowtorch. I crafted a little laced box, requiring zero tools, under the guise of a first aid kit, then tore it all apart and made a template out of it. It's not an ifak but it would probably fit a space blanket and packing. This is just a little 2x4 box to strap onto a pack for bandaids and bactine.

I would design those more like a shell wallet with a snap closure. Fashionable, discreet, sized appropriately for a clutch or purse.
