How... Did you wind up, as Brettonia, defending the White Tower from a crapton of dark elves? It just boggles my mind.
Ulthuan is not that far from bretonnia tho...
What amazes me is that this person did it AND there is no late game Bretonnian army up in there.
In fact Dark Elves grew pretty strong and High Elves weak, so I seized the opportunity to grab lands on Ulthuan. The reason why there is no late game army is because I started this campaign long ago, BEFORE Bretonnia rework. Bretonnia rework canceled all vows on my lords, so I couldn't hire high tier unit cos they are insanely expensive when you don't have quest vow or graal vow. So yes, I'm fuked up here
@@lapinofpersia4277 Damn! I get it now, something similar happened to me. You should probably retreat and recruit new ones to get the vows? Rough spot to handle.

Leave it to the AI to fill Hellebron's army with Black Guards and Malekith's army with Executioners.
This really turned into Medieval 2 near the end.

Man those Knights of the Realm are heroes. Fighting to one man left in the entire group. Dead general, foreign shore, and hopeless odds, but the Knights fought on. Brotonians for sure.

I came here for the few dark elves, but turns out the title was a true click bait since there wasn't a few dark elves at all, and instead it was a heck load of dark elves all over the place! I feel tricked. Would not recommend.

Legend: Cabalry sucks in this game
Killed like 5 times larger army with only cav
Problem is Cavalry has no use or so in sieges and it needs a lot of micromanagement for cycle charging.
"Hold yer fuckin ground yer dumb shits" pretty much sums up Brettonnia
"Hold your fucking ground you dumb shits" keep saying this all the time to my heavily armored units that are pinning down some basic non-AP infantry. Like they're gonna start routing even if it would take the enemy something like 4 more minutes to actually take them down and I just need them to hold so my other forces can come back to flank.
Also why the hell doesn't that guy have grail knights by now?
That one remaining knight in that unit. A fucking green knight in the making.
Oh man, this I don't even play britonnia and this has to be my favorite battle of all time. Your other videos helped me really think outside the box too when it comes to these challenging fights (that frankly can totally be avoided) and still make it. You're a legend!

Imagine a Total war where the AI does not split up their forces, does not send their lords and cav to die, does not leave ranged units exposed...we would all be well and truly fucked.

It's a world overflowing with magic... So much magic it needs to be constantly be bailed out as to not drown the world. Things appearing at of places they have no business appearing from is a Tuesday.
I kind of feel sorry for them Dark Elf infantry they ran after the cavalry the whole battle doing nothing at all only too get owned at the end having done nothing but run around the battle lol.
That was some maximum Bretonnian shit right there.

I really didn't enjoy the first one but the second I'm really enjoying. Seems more fleshed out and they fixed a lot of stuff that frustrated me with the first.
It's one of those games where you need to just decide "I really want to learn how this works" and then spend few hours of your time looking at different guides or listening to videos on the background while playing it.
I tried to get into the game a year ago, just fucking failed and goot completely destroyed the turn after I won the first battle and I didn't understand why or what was even going on and got so annoyed I just refunded the game. Now I got back into it about a week ago it's fucking awesome now that I've actually learned how to play it even if it is on the basic level.
@@BarokaiRein I just started playing as the high elves, watched some of legend's and few others videos and that was it. I don't have time for guides. Its a game, not an exam

You don't normally see legend doing stupid things, but putting the battle in fast forward while his general was at less than 100 health and directly in front of hand bows and zooming in to the other side of the map was pretty fucking dumb lol. Oh well, he won, props to him for riding that long ass battle out!

Total War AI never fails to sacrifice its general at the beginning.
I know you don't like control groups, but if you keep (and get used to) lords and generals as single entity group, you can give them order much faster if they are getting shot. I saw like 3-4 moments, when you started selecting unit, given the order to move and it was too late, but with control group, you could just press 2 (for example) and just quickly give order to move anywhere and he would dodge most shots. Whole army on control group is discutable, but if you are micromanaging and keeping hero/lord around enemy archers, it would help a lot.
Holy shit. That was really Legendary. You, Sir, did a great job. And, as people said in comments, to call yourself a legend is kinda ballsy, but this was a clear proof of validity of that name )

I actually had pretty great success with the lance formation, it's very micro intensive though. Such a big force multiplier better than ranged infantry imo.
This is one long ass battle, but so epic
From the glimpse look onto the campaign map after the battle the situation would suggest somehow slightly a disaster campaign. But it's not the Bretonnia Home-Terretory so maybe all is okay... :-)

Would the flock of doom on Helebron as she was running away have kill her? She was down to 95 hp.
I woudnt be surprised if it didnt, its really weak against heroes and she had some regen going on if im not mistaken.
Nope flock of Doom does like 20 -30dmg against Single targets

the only cavalry stream wasnt a troll? what the difficulty To play only cavalry with bretonnia ? it's the purpose of the faction everyone has only cavalry armies in the late gate, are they really people who still use infantry and missiles with bretonnia in the late game ? I mean the only difficulty will be at the beginning to afford the knights economically.
Or i miss something ?
Guys i need help, how do you get the ambush achievement? do i need to play and win 5 ambush being the ambusher or being the ambushed?

I wonder why he doesn't use lance formation? I'm sure there's probably a reason, just not sure what.
he doesnt consider it very effective, the bonuses arent that great and it can make the formation awkward to control and difficult to pull out
units in lance formation are vulnerable to missiles, and the extra acceleration and speed means they get deeper into enemy formations on the charge and become harder to pull out and end up getting hung up by a couple guys more often.

@1 hr 25m i suspect because the enemy wasshattered and your units auto attacked for the easy kill because as soon as you targeted the other unit to attack they broke instantly.. i guess thats a mechanic you knew just that you where ball deep at 1hr25 lol.. i dont no how to play the game well so comment is just my observation .. because them not breaking made no sense at the time..

same thing happened to me as soon as i updated my graphic card's driver to the latest version, im using a gtx 1060, now im using an older driver version from october last year and it hardly crashes anymore
Have you updated your Nvidia drivers and verified the game cache on Steam?
@@bogdanleshenko7149 mate i have played a year a go from Fitgirl repacks TW WH 2 whitout any problems! Cracked by steam-punk, worked fine untill one of the patches much later. Then i buyed the fckin game wanted to play normaly, and support the motherfckers :)
