Other suggestions:
No End, No Beginning
Illusion and Dream
Stay
Shadow Play
Change
Given and Denied (reccing this again)
Balance Slays the Demon (again)
Heal my Wounds
dang, thats a lot of suggestions! I love IT! =)
@@Reckyj I honestly went through my entire Poets collection to find songs that hadn't been mentioned yet and this is the result of just my favourites. I think doing two videos a week was a smart idea unless you still want to be doing this in 5 years! 😂
@@the-reading-lemon hahahaha that’s my thought exactly!! So funny. 😂😂😂
The variation Poets Of The Fall can do is simply astounding. They just blend out any genre limitations and Marko (trained as a classical singer, I believe) can do ANYTHING with that voice! He has full control over his voice & his voice holds all of those songs together. Plus... as a lyricist.. he's up there with the best! A poet, indeed.
Daze still up your list, you say... then Choice Millionaire is a must do for you.
Same album as Daze is from. Has an official video (temped??! )
"It's a wide wide world out there
And life can be a love affair
(...) *I'll let you find out this line yourself*
You’re a choice millionaire"
Marko learned to sing on his own. He probably had a bit of training afterward. But, I believe he said in an interview that he learned guitar and how to sing by himself.
If you want some floating around... these are the ones.
They don't come with an official video, so you can just close your eyes and let them take you on a ride...
The Distance
Dawn
That’s a nice picture you painted. Looking forward for it. Thank you for the suggestions!
They both are amazing! Dawn is my top3 Morning Tide, Ballade of Jeremiah Peacekeeper and Dawn. Love it!
@@sensualladylove484 morning tide ? Has that been suggested? Lol either way, it’s added.
@@sensualladylove484 Morning Tide ❤
the catch is: the Poets songs are all in their own ways unique.
Where Do We Draw The Line
My interpretation of Lift is it's about the difference in how people think between "normal" and people who are more free to be themselves. They show him the ink blot that resembles a moth Marko's response rather than saying what he sees is to hold up his hands in the form of a moth. Answering the abstract with the abstract. But because they are stuck in their rigid way of thinking and what is normal the interrogators don't get it. So they continue to try to get the kind of answers they want to hear and he continues not to give them his own answer and as such they get more and more angry over it.
Pair this with the lyrics which seem to be describing someone who feels kind of lost in the day to day routine. They feel like they are just going to disappear and lose control of themselves within that societal norm. Then the chorus hits and I personally take the chorus to be referring to the singers creativity, hopes, and dreams. When he embraces that side of himself it lifts him above the repetition of life. But without them he just falls back into feeling lost and directionless.
Another note about the video, in the space where we see the band themselves performing the walls are covered in moths pinned to their little panels but there's one panel that we see the outline of where the moth used to be but instead it's flying around free, further representing that freedom from having broken free from the norm that everyone else is trapped within and being able to fly.
Thank you for making such an effort to explain. And share your thoughts. I really enjoy reading it!
How do I feel? Same as you. Never can decide. Depends it´s place on my playlist.
Same as me! =)
The bug from Lift was a moth. A moth with a pin through it is their logo. At least, it was. They pretty much changed it once their Clearview album came out.
As for the meanings of the songs... you might as well not ask. Their songs are cryptic most of the time. XD
they are. But its intresting to "try" to figure it out. =)
You have to listen to brighter than the sun and hounds of hamartia
Added! 😃
Yey a new reaction from you! Love it! I would like to suggest "Psychosis", "Roses" and "Miss impossible" from Poets of the Fall. I really like those songs! Have a nice day!
Glad you enjoy it! Your suggestions is added. And I hope you have an awesome day!
No End, No Beginning is great one! And Morning Tide please. Oh, Morning Tide is just so beautiful.
and also Dawn. But the best is Rogue--guitar gods as they are)
=) thank you!
Nice, Lifts always been one of my favorites.
It is not butterfly, but a moth:) The main symbol of Poets:) pinned moth, like catch the moment, live now, enjoy the moment as you never know what happens next second and maybe you are pinned to wall with life
did i first say bacon, then cockroach.. my bad. =)
Diamonds for Tears not my favourite either, however, every time I listen to it I have a surge of energy and I wanna dance/jump... but I live in an apartment so I jump in my head with a big smile on my face. What does that tell you :D?
The song is from Revolution Roulette and although each song stands for itself, Poets of the Fall have usually a driving theme in each album - a red thread if you will. These themes link the albums to one another in trilogies... But don't think for a second that the parts of the trilogies are released chronologically LOL. When you know about that though, it gives the songs a whole new level which is really fun to dig into. Lift is from Signs of Life album (1st album). Man that song live is pure adrenaline, just like Daze and My Dark Disquiet (& Choice Millionaire... see my suggestions below).
The trilogy thing-y might give the non-initiated listener a headache just to think about, but I am mentioning it because there is - beyond the simple words and first layers of meaning to every song - a deeper thought process that makes Poets of the Fall so great ^_^. The videos do have some subtle symbolic related to the band's work as well sometimes... You must have noticed it in Diamond for Tears ;)
I already suggested this one, but it feels like I am the only one liking it : Choice Millionaire... don't underestimate that song, pretty please :D (there is an official video with it too)
2 others I probably mentioned before: Jealous Gods & Rebirth from the Alexander Theatre Sessions (also from official channel)
All three songs are from the album Jealous Gods ;) one of my Poets fav albums.
Thanks for the video Recky!
Thank you for sharing your knowledge! Means a lot. And the suggestions. 💙
Next check Locking Up the Sun, Love Will come to you official music video. Lift is one of their earliest (after Late Goodbye) MV. It was on PC 2005
3D Marks credits song.
Thank you for sharing. And more songs is added to the list!
Your cat is Poets fan))))))
Yeah, they are always in the recordings.. insane! hahahaha
Lift is one of my favorites. The other one is from 2. album 2008, then it was my favorite, but it's been dropping in my list too. Thanks a lot
If you like a heavier session, try
The Happy Song
Psychosis
I can imagine reaction on the Happy Song)))))))))))))
I heard about this Happy song. And I’m a bit scared .. hahaha
@@Reckyj it should go in a tow with Balance Slays the Demon by Old Gods of Asgard))))
@@Reckyj 😎
Well, you did like Moonlight Kissed... so maybe, just maybe, you can be allowed to listen to All The Way - 4U and Rebirth, the tender ones. They're the contrast programme to the Happy Song & Psychosis and I am a bit protective of them. 😄
I can see you stop the video in the first two thirds of All The Way - 4U and go all about ... hm hm hm … 🤨 and then I want to see you when the last third kicks off 😏
And Rebirth is very metaphorical (like Angel is as well). I prefer the album version, though.
IMO official live version of Diamonds for tears is way better than the music video
Noted! Might do a reaction to songs that I already reacted to, but the song is live.
