Thanks for sharing this. I understand from retail tech support Microsoft won't be supporting Win 10 much longer. We've just gone through a hellish ( for various reasons) PC upgrade with system cloning, to get to a new, faster and stable PC and larger C drive so we CAN actually accept the Win 11 upgrade Microsoft has been trying to force on us for a while. I just ran the PC health check you describe here and we're good for it.
I would really like to be sure the update assistant version DOES preserve my existing programs and data but that all went by a little quickly. I have done various backups including backup application backups and direct copies of almost all our more than 2 terabytes of files to external hard drives. I understand from what I was told that rollback to Win 10 within a certain period is possible if things don't go well and I hope that isn't too technical or difficult to access?

What happens with all the hardware drivers after the upgrade? I guess you have to download and reinstall them using the ones with Win11 support, I doubt Windows will do it for you. So if your setup is not so simple, then there might be quite a few issues after the update.

Windows 11 is basically reskinned Windows 10 so 99% of the time Windows 10 drivers will work on WIndows 11. I find both Windows 10 and WIndows 11 actually do a pretty good job at installing the proper drivers by default.

The wallpaper is called Alena Aenami - Horizon on wallpaper engine (paid software on steam, but you can uses Lively wallpaper as a free alternative). The clock and application launchers are done using rainmeter. I've just tried the "free" update, worst idea ever, after downloading and installing it immediately went to repair mode and almost lost everything, luckily I was able to choose the windows 10 again and save my day.
